Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kualitas hubungan saudara kandung terhadap keterbukaan diri pada individu dewasa awal di Jabodetabek. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini didasarkan pada metode non probability sampling dengan teknik convenience sampling. Jumlah sampel yang diperoleh adalah sebanyak 384 responden dengan kriteria laki-laki/ perempuan, berusia 19 – 29 tahun, memiliki saudara kandung dan berdomisili di Jabodetabek. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengukur kualitas hubungan saudara kandung adalah Adult Sibling Relationship Questionnaire (ASRQ) yang diadopsi dari Tani, Guarnieri dan Ingoglia yang disusun berdasarkan teori Stocker, Lanthier dan Furman (1997), sedangkan alat ukur yang digunakan untuk mengukur keterbukaan diri adalah Revised Self-Disclosure Scale (RSDS) berdasarkan teori Wheeless (1976). Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan analisis regresi berganda, menemukan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan dari variabel kualitas hubungan saudara kandung secara simultan terhadap keterbukaan diri pada individu dewasa awal di Jabodetabek dengan nilai p-value = 0,000. Kemudian, diperoleh nilai R Square = 0,214 yang menunjukkan besaran pengaruh dari variabel kualitas hubungan saudara kandung secara simultan terhadap keterbukaan diri sebesar 21,4% pada individu dewasa awal di Jabodetabek. Lalu, pengaruh variabel kualitas hubungan saudara kandung apabila dilihat dari masing-masing dimensi, memiliki sumbangan efektif (R Square Change) sebesar 16,3% pada dimensi conflict, 3% pada dimensi warmth dan 2,1% pada dimensi rivalry. This study aims to determine the effect of sibling relationship quality on self-disclosure in early adult individuals in Jabodetabek. The method used in this research is the quantitative research method. The sampling technique in this study is based on the non-probability sampling method with convenience sampling technique. The number of samples obtained was 384 respondents with the criteria of male/ female, aged 19 - 29 years, having siblings, and domiciled in Jabodetabek. The measuring instrument used in this study to measure the sibling relationships quality is the Adult Sibling Relationship Questionnaire (ASRQ) adopted from Tani, Guarnieri, and Ingoglia which is compiled based on the theory of Stocker, Lanthier, and Furman (1997), while the measuring instrument used to measure self-disclosure is the Revised Self-Disclosure Scale (RSDS) based on the theory of Wheeless (1976). The results of hypothesis testing using multiple regression analysis found a significant effect of sibling relationship quality variables simultaneously on self-disclosure in early adult individuals in Jabodetabek with a p-value = 0,000. Then, the R Square value = 0,214 was obtained, which shows the amount of influence of the sibling relationship quality variables simultaneously on self-disclosure of 21,4% in early adult individuals in Jabodetabek. Then, the influence of sibling relationship quality variables when viewed from each dimension, has an effective contribution (R Square Change) of 16,3% in the conflict dimension, 3% in the warmth dimension, and 2,1% in the rivalry dimension.
