Abstract

Pemanfaatan teknologi informasi pada pendidikan tidak hanya digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas, namun dapat digunakan juga dalam pelaksanaan Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru (PPDB). Berdasarkan hasil wawancara, pelaksanaan PPDB SMP Ksatrya tahun 2023 masih dilakukan secara offline dan online. Namun sistem informasi PPDB SMP Ksatrya berbasis web yang memfasilitasi PPDB online masih belum maksimal baik dari segi tampilan maupun fungsi. Hal ini didukung dengan hasil pengujian usability menggunakan System Usability Scale (SUS) dengan skor 43,72 yang menunjukkan adanya kebutuhan untuk memperbaiki sistem informasi ini dari sisi user interface dan user experience. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang user interface dan user experience sistem informasi PPDB berbasis web pada SMP Ksatrya yang user friendly. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah User Centered Design (UCD) yang dalam perancangan sistemnya menempatkan pengguna sebagai fokus utama dalam proses pengembangan. Hasil dari pendekatan UCD berupa high fidelity prototype yang diuji menggunakan metode usability testing sebagai pengujian terhadap user interface dan SUS sebagai pengujian terhadap user experience. Pengujian dengan metode usability testing mendapatkan nilai 100% dan pengujian dengan metode SUS diperoleh hasil akhir 82,53. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa rancangan user interface dan user experience yang telah dibuat mampu memenuhi kebutuhan dan kesesuaian yang diperlukan oleh SMP Ksatrya. ********** The use of information technology in education is not only used in the learning process in the classroom, but can also be used in the implementation of new student admissions. Based on the interview results, the implementation of new student admission at SMP Ksatrya in 2023 is still done offline and online. However, the web-based new student admission information system at SMP Ksatrya is still not optimal in terms of appearance and function. This is supported by the usability testing results using the System Usability Scale (SUS) with a score of 43.72, which indicates the need to improve this information system from the user interface and user experience aspects. This study aims to design a user interface and user experience for the web-based new student admission information system at SMP Ksatrya that is user-friendly. The methodological approach used in this study is user-centered design (UCD), which places users as the main focus in the system development process. The result of the UCD approach is a high-fidelity prototype that is tested using the usability testing method as a test of the user interface and SUS as a test of the user experience. Testing with the usability testing method obtained a value of 100%, and testing with the SUS method obtained a final result of 82.53. These results indicate that the user interface and user experience design that have been made can meet the needs and suitability required by SMP Ksatrya.
