Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi sistem instalasi penangkal petir di Kawasan Menara Mandiri seperti komponen dan tahanan pentanahannya dengan standar yang digunakan yaitu PER.02/MEN/1989 dan juga SNI 03-7015-2004. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian didapatkan hampir semua gedung di Kawasan Menara Mandiri membutuhkan sistem penangkal petir eksternal berdasarkan PER.02/MEN/1989 dan SNI 03-7015-2004 dengan perkiraan resiko yang besar. Gedung yang mempunyai sistem penangkal petir eksternal sudah sesuai SNI 03-7015-2004. Namun ada komponen sistem penangkal petir eksternal yang tidak sesuai dengan PER.02/MEN/1989. Tahanan pentanahan (Grounding) sistem penangkal petir eksternal pada gedung di Kawasan Menara Mandiri sudah sesuai dengan peraturan yaitu tidak lebih dari 5 ohm. Sistem penangkal petir eksternal pada gedung di Kawasan Menara Mandiri sudah dapat melindungi gedung itu sendiri, namun hanya 1 (satu) gedung yang sistem penangkal petir eksternalnya dapat melindungi seluruh Kawasan Menara Mandiri. This study aims to evaluate the lightning installation system in the Menara Mandiri area such as components and grounding resistance with the standards used, namely PER.02/MEN/1989 and also SNI 03-7015-2004. Then also this study aims to determine whether the lightning installation in the Menara Mandiri Area can protect from the threat of lightning. The research was conducted from late June to early September 2023. This research is a descriptive study by direct observation of the Lightning Protection System in the Menara Mandiri Area. The observations made to collect data are, observation and measurement of the main components of the lightning installation, measurement of grounding resistance, and conducting connectivity tests. Data that is not obtained by direct observation can be processed mathematically. The data results are then compared with PER.02/MEN/1989 and SNI 03-7015-2004. Conclusion from the results showed that almost all buildings in the Menara Mandiri area require an external lightning rod system based on PER.02/MEN/1989 and SNI 03-7015-2004 with a large estimated risk. Buildings that have an external lightning protection system are in accordance with SNI 03- 7015-2004. However, there are components of the external lightning protection system that are not in accordance with PER.02/MEN/1989. The grounding resistance of the external lightning protection system in the building in the Menara Mandiri Area is in accordance with the regulations, which is smaller than 5 ohms. The external lightning protection system in the building in the Menara Mandiri area can protect the building itself, but only 1 (one) building whose external lightning protection system can protect the entire Menara Mandiri area.
