Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tentang karakteristik permukiman kumuh di RW 04 Kelurahan Manggarai Kecamatan Tebet Jakarta Selatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik Purposive Sampling. Adapun populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah masyarakat RW 04 Kelurahan Manggarai. Jumlah populasi pada penelitian ini sebesar 2.648 jiwa dengan sampel sebanyak 348 jiwa. Teknik pengumpulan data ini dengan menyebarkan kuesioner, studi pustaka dan internet. Penelitian ini menjelaskan tentang karakteristik permukiman kumuh yang dihuni oleh masyarakat yang berpendidikan rendah dengan penghasilan yang rendah. Keberadaan penduduk pendatang dengan tingkat pendidikan yang rendah sehingga mereka hanya dapat ditempatkan dalam sektor informal kota. Masyarakat RW 04 bekerja di sektor informal, seperti profesi pemulung mencapai 23%, pedagang mencapai 22%, ojek online sebanyak 15%, wiraswasta sebanyak 11% *** This study aims to examine the characteristics of slums in RW 04, Manggarai Village, Tebet District, South Jakarta. The method used is quantitative descriptive with Purposive Sampling technique. The population in this study is the community of RW 04 Manggarai Village. The total population in this study was 2,648 people with a sample of 348 people. This data collection technique is by distributing questionnaires, literature studies and the internet. This research Explain the characteristics of slums inhabited by poorly educated people with low incomes. The existence of migrant residents with low levels of education so that they can only be placed in the informal sector of the city. RW 04 people work in the informal sector, such as waste pickers profession reaching 23%, traders reaching 22%, online motorcycle taxis as much as 15%, self-employed as much as 11%.
