Abstract

Penelitian ini secara garis besar bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan sejauh mana peran sebuah komunitas belajar dalam menjalankan fungsinya sebagai Lembaga Pendidikan Informal bagi keberlangsungan pendidikan untuk anak jalanan. Penelitian ini menjelaskan apa saja program yang dijalankan dalam menjalankan peran lembaga pendidikan informal. Kemudian penelitian ini juga memaparkan berbagai tantangan yang dihadapi serta hasil akhir dari pendidikan yang diberikan Sekoci untuk anak jalanan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui teknik observasi, wawancara mendalam, serta dokumentasi dengan analisis data deskriptif yang mendalam. Data primer dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari hasil wawancara dengan 10 orang yang terdiri dari 3 informan kunci, yaitu Pendiri dan Pembina Sekoci, Ketua Sekoci, serta Pengawas Sekoci dan 3 informan pendukung, para tenaga pengajar di Sekoci. Penelitian ini dimulai sejak bulan Juni 2023 sampai November 2023. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Komunitas Sekoci didirikan atas keresahan pendirinya yang melihat menurunnya moral anak jalanan di sekitar kawasan Cikini. Komunitas Sekoci memiliki berbagai program pembelajaran yang konsepnya sama dengan lembaga pendidikan formal, namun sistemnya dibuat lebih menyenangkan yang memadukan antara bermain dan belajar. Eksistensi Komunitas Sekoci telah menghasilkan beberapa ketercapaian terhadap berbagai aspek, baik sikap moral serta nilai dan norma anak jalanan maupun kesadaran orangtua akan pentingnya pendidikan. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan evaluasi bagi Komunitas Sekoci terkait tujuan serta visi-misi mereka, juga perlunya kolaborasi antara pemerintah dan berbagai komunitas belajar, termasuk Sekoci, untuk bersama-sama menyelenggarakan pendidikan yang merata bagi anak jalanan. ************ This research generally aims to describe the extent of the role of a learning community in carrying out its function as a Informal Education Institution for the continuity of education for street children. This research explains what programs are carried out in carrying out the role of non-formal education institutions. Then this research also explains the various challenges faced and the final results of the education provided by Sekoci for street children. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. Research data were obtained through observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation with in-depth descriptive data analysis. The primary data in this study were obtained from interviews with 6 people consisting of 3 key informants, namely the Sekoci Founder and Supervisor, the Sekoci Chief, and the Sekoci Supervisor and 3 supporting informants, the teaching staff in the Sekoci. This research started from June 2023 to November 2023. The results of the study show that learning communities are quite capable of fulfilling their role as in-formal educational institutions that facilitate education for underprivileged children. In carrying out its role, Sekoci tries to form a learning system that is almost similar to a formal school, but makes the learning atmosphere more enjoyable. Sekoci's strategy in establishing itself as a non-formal educational institution was able to produce several achievements which included increasing the attitude and moral values of street children so that they were able to give birth to disadvantaged children who excel, both in the academic and non-academic fields. The results of the research shows that Sekoci Community was founded due to the concerns of its founder who saw the decline in the morale of street children around the Cikini area. The Sekoci Community has various learning programs whose concept is the same as formal education institutions, but the system is made more fun by combining play and learning. The existence of the Sekoci Community has resulted in several achievements in various aspects, both the moral attitudes and values and norms of street children as well as parents' awareness of the importance of education. Sekoci Community is indeed able to provide education for street children, but it is not optimal because it does not produce a certificate equivalent to a diploma to be able to continue the education of street children. Therefore, an evaluation is needed for the Sekoci Community regarding their goals and vision and mission, as well as the need for collaboration between the government and various learning communities, including Sekoci, to jointly provide equitable education for street children.
