Abstract

Setiap orang memiliki kapasitas memori kerja yang terbatas, dimana kinerjanya berkorelasi dengan kemampuan kognitif dan prestasi akademiknya. Kapasitas memori kerja yang terlampaui akan menghambat proses sesorang dalam menerima, memaknai dan mengolah suatu informasi, sehingga akan menimbulkan beban kognitif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara beban kognitif dengan hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi kelarutan dan hasil kali kelarutan (Ksp). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada September—November 2023 di SMA Angkasa 2 Halim Perdanakusuma Jakarta. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 119 peserta didik kelas XII MIPA 2—6 yang dipilih secara acak. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode survei dengan teknik korelasional. Nilai rata-rata beban kognitif peserta didik tergolong cukup yaitu, sebesar 48 dan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar peserta didik tergolong tinggi dengan nilai rata-rata 72. Hasil uji hipotesis korelasi dengan uji Rank Spearman diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,001 dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar -0,302. Hal tersebut menandakan adanya hubungan negatif yang signifikan, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi beban kognitif maka akan semakin rendah hasil belajar peserta didik. Every person has a limited working memory capacity, and its performance is correlated with cognitive abilities and academic achievement. Excessive working memory capacity will hinder a process of receiving, interpreting and processing information, thereby causing cognitive load. This research aims to determine the relationship between cognitive load and student learning outcomes in solubility (Ksp). This research was conducted in September-November 2023 at SMA Angkasa 2 Halim Perdanakusuma Jakarta. The research sample consisted of 119 students in class XII MIPA 2-6 who were chosen randomly. The method used is a survey method with correlational techniques. The average value of students' cognitive load is 48 and the average value of students' learning outcomes is classified as high with an average value of 72. The results of the correlation hypothesis test with the Spearman Rank test obtained a significance value of 0.001 with a correlation coefficient of -0.302. This indicates that there is a significant negative relationship, so it can be concluded that the higher the cognitive load, the lower the student's learning outcomes.
