Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh body image terhadap kepercayaan diri remaja perempuan. Sampel dalam penelitian sebanyak 181 responden yang merupakan remaja perempuan berusia 17-24 tahun. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Variabel independen body image, diukur menggunakan instrumen The Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnare – Appearance Scale (MBSRQ-AS) yang dibuat oleh Thomas F. Cash (2000) dan diadaptasi oleh Diala Itani (2011). Dependen variabel kepercayaan diri, diukur menggunakan instrumen yang dibuat oleh Nisak, dkk. (2023) dengan mengacu pada aspek Lauster (2002). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak artinya body image berpengaruh terhadap kepercayaan diri remaja perempuan sebesar 18,1%. The sample in the study was 181 respondents who were teenage girls aged 17-24 years. Sampling used purposive sampling technique. The independent variable, body image was measured using the Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire – Appearance Scale (MBSRQ-AS) instrument created by Thomas F. Cash (2000) and adapted by Diala Itani (2011). The Independent variable is self-confidence, measured using an instrument created by Nisak, et al. (2023) by referring to aspects of Lauster (2002). Based on the research result, it was found that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected, meaning that body image had an effect on adolecents girls’ self-confidence by 18,1%.
