Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan model pembelajaran IPS berbasis virtual reality dengan pendekatan case-based learning serta menilai kelayakan dan efektivitas model pembelajaran yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam mix methode dengan menggunakan metode Research & Development (R&D) model Dick and Carey dengan mengintegrasikan model Borg and Gall pada tahapan awal penelitian dengan produk yang dihasilkan berupa model pembelajaran IPS secara konseptual, prosedural dan fisikal. Hasil evaluasi formatif yang melibatkan pakar dan peserta didik menunjukkan produk yang dihasilkan layak digunakan. Penilaian pada aspek desain pembelajaran sebesar 85% (sangat layak), aspek materi pembelajaran 89% (sangat layak), aspek media 83% (layak) dan aspek bahasa sebesar 86% (sangat layak). Hasil field test atau uji coba lapangan menerapkan model pembelajaran IPS berbasis virtual reality dengan pendektan case-based learning menunjukan nilai rata-rata skor pretest sebesar 54,6 dan posttest sebesar 82 dengan Skor N-gain sebesar 0.56 (kategori sedang). Hasil uji efektivitas dengan uji paired sample t test diperoleh nilai sig (2-tailed) thitung 22,22 > ttabel 1,98 maka Ha diterima artinya terdapat perbedaan nilai rata-rata pretest dan posttest. Hal ini menunjukan penggunaan model pembelajaran IPS berbasis virtual reality dengan pendektan case-based learning efektif pada pencapaian hasil belajar peserta didik kelas VII di Sekolah Menengah Pertama. Penggunaan model pembelajaran IPS berbasis virtual reality dengan pendektan case-based learning juga dapat meningkatkan minat belajar IPS peserta didik dengan persentase sebesar 80% yang berarti berminat mengikuti pembelajaran dengan menggunakan virtual reality. This research aims to produce a virtual reality-based social studies learning model with a case-based learning approach and assess the feasibility and effectiveness of the learning model developed. The research uses the Research & Development method with the development of the Dick and Carey model by integrating the Borg and Gall model in the early stages of the research with the resulting product in the form of conceptual, procedural, and physical. The results of formative evaluation involving experts and students show that the resulting product is suitable for use. The assessment for the learning design aspect was 85% (very feasible), the learning material aspect was 89% (very feasible), the media aspect was 83% (feasible) and the language aspect was 86% (very feasible). The results of the field test or trial of implementing a virtual reality-based social studies learning model with a case-based learning approach showed an average pretest score of 54.6 and a posttest of 82 with an N-gain score of 0.56 (medium category). The results of the effectiveness test using the Paired Sample T Test obtained a sig (2-tailed) t-count of 22.22 > t-table 1.98, so Ha was accepted, meaning there was a difference in the average pretest and post-test scores. This shows that the use of a virtual reality-based social studies learning model with a case-based learning approach is effective in achieving learning outcomes for class VII students in junior high schools. The use of a virtual reality-based social studies learning model with a case-based learning approach can also increase students' interest in studying social studies by a percentage of 80%, which means they are interested in participating in using virtual reality.
