Abstract

This research aims to evaluate and optimize a MikroTik-based wireless network at SMKN 1 Kemang using the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC) method. The evaluation was conducted using the Cisco Packet Tracer 7.3.1 simulation application. The results of the study indicate that the application of the NDLC method successfully produced a more stable and responsive network, thereby enhancing user experience in accessing digital resources efficiently. However, there was a decrease in network quality in some parameters, namely a delay of 74.618 ms, jitter of 31.391 ms, and a reduction in throughput by 253.593 bps. This research provides recommendations to improve network efficiency at SMKN 1 Kemang through school space segmentation using NDLC-based WLAN. Additionally, this research provides an in-depth evaluation of the existing network infrastructure to identify challenges and weaknesses that need to be addressed. The optimization phase is planned to implement MikroTik-based solutions to enhance network security and improve network performance in identifying and addressing performance issues such as data transfer speed, latency, and connection stability.
