Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tiga tujuan utama, pertama, untuk mendeskripsikan apa yang melatarbelakangi pemilihan aliran gereja oleh pemuda dari Gereja HKBP Cengkareng terbentuk. Kedua, untuk mendeskripsikan apa yang menjadi rasionalitas pemuda dan apa yang dilakukan oleh pemuda dari Gereja HKBP Cengkareng dalam keikutsertaan mereka beribadah di aliran gereja Kharismatik. Ketiga, untuk mendeskripsikan dampak sosial yang timbul akibat pemilihan aliran kharismatik sebagai tempat beribadah pemuda dari Gereja HKBP Cengkareng. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan metode studi kasus. Data pada penelitian ini diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dokumentasi dan studi literatur. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari 6 informan kunci yang memiliki alasan rasional untuk memilih gereja aliran Kharismatik sebagai tempat beribadah. Kemudian dilengkapi oleh 4 informan triangulasi yaitu 1 orang pendeta, ketua naposo HKBP Cengkareng, 1 admin gereja HKBP Cengkareng, dan 1 orang tua dari informan kunci. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa latar belakang pemuda HKBP Cengkareng dalam memilih aliran Lutheran (HKBP Cengkareng) sebagai tempat beribadah meliputi keterikatan pemuda dengan gereja, bahasa kesukuan, adat istiadat gereja, dan organisasi gereja. Sedangkan, rasionalitas pemuda dalam memilih aliran Kharismatik sebagai tempat beribadah adalah kebebasan dalam beribadah, pesona organisasi gereja, modernitas di gereja, dan susunan ibadah di gereja Kharismatik. Konteks sosial terbentuknya rasionalitas ini mencakup faktor budaya, struktur keluarga, agama, dan sejarah, yang memainkan peran dalam cara pemuda memahami dan merespons pilihan aliran keagamaan mereka. Selanjutnya, rasionalitas dan konteks sosialnya membentuk tindakan pemuda dalam keikutsertaan mereka di gereja Kharismatik yaitu dalam bentuk rutin mengikuti ibadah, menjadi pelayan gereja Kharismatik, dan memilih tetap beribadah serta terdaftar di gereja Lutheran (HKBP) sebagai bentuk penyeimbangan atas evaluasi risiko hubungan sosialnya. Terakhir, dampak sosial dari pemilihan aliran gereja tempat beribadah, meliputi perubahan dinamika anggota, adaptasi terhadap preferensi dan kebutuhan pemuda, serta peran gereja dalam mendorong inklusivitas dan toleransi. Kata Kunci: Rasionalitas, Pemuda, Gereja This research has three main objectives, first, to describe what is behind the selection of church sects by youth from the HKBP Cengkareng Church formed. Second to describe what is the rationality of the youth and what is done by the youth of HKBP Cengkareng Church in their participation in worshipping in the Charismatic church sect. Third, to describe the social impact arising from the selection of church sects where youth from the HKBP Cengkareng Church worship. This research uses a qualitative approach, with a case study method. The data in this study were obtained through in-depth interviews, observation, documentation and literature study. The subjects of this study consisted of 6 key informants who had rational reasons for choosing the Charismatic church as a place of worship. Then it is complemented by 4 triangulation informants, namely 1 pastor, the head of HKBP Cengkareng naposo, HKBP Cengkareng church admin, and 1 parent of the key informant. The results of this study indicate that the background of youth from the HKBP Cengkareng rationality in choosing the Lutheran sect (HKBP Cengkareng) as a place of worship includes youth attachment to the church, tribal language, church customs, and church organization. Meanwhile, the rationality of youth in choosing the Charismatic sect as a place of worship is freedom in worship, the charm of the church organization, modernity in the church, and the order of worship in the Charismatic church. The social context in which these rationalities are formed includes cultural, family structure, religious, and historical factors, which play a role in how youth understand and respond to their choice of religious sect. Furthermore, rationality and social context shape youth actions in their participation in the Charismatic church, namely in the form of regularly attending worship services, becoming a servant of the Charismatic church, and choosing to continue worshiping and being registered in the Lutheran church (HKBP) as a form of balance for evaluating the risks of social relationships. Last, the social impact of choosing a church denomination includes changes in member dynamics, adaptation to youth preferences and needs, and the role of the church in promoting inclusiveness and tolerance.
