Abstract

Asosiasi Nederlandsch – Indische Vereeniging tot Natuurbescherming (Asosiasi Perlindungan Alam Hindia Belanda) pada tahun 1912 – 1938 memiliki peranan penting dalam perkembangan dunia konservasi alam di Hindia Belanda (Indonesia). Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian sejarah dengan menerapkan lima aspek, yaitu pemilihan topik, pengumpulan sumber, verifikasi data, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Metode yang digunakan disesuaikan dengan pendekatan melalui deskriptif – naratif, studi kepustakaan dan menulis ulang informasi yang telah diperoleh yang kemudian digabungkan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah asosiasi Nederlandsch – Indische Vereeniging tot Natuurbescherming merupakan sebuah perkumpulan yang bergerak dalam kegiatan konservasi alam pertama di Hindia Belanda (Indonesia). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Nederlandsch – Indische Vereeniging tot Natuurbescherming merupakan sebuah perkumpulan yang bergerak dalam kegiatan konservasi alam pertama di Hindia Belanda (Indonesia). Asosiasi Nederlandsch – Indische Vereeniging tot Natuurbescherming ini juga berperan sebagai penasehat pemerintah dalam kegiatan pelestarian alam di Hindia Belanda. Perkumpulan juga berperan dalam upaya pengajuan dan penetapan kawasan yang perlu dijadikan monumen alam serta pembentukan produk hukum konservasi alam bagi pemerintah kolonial Hindia Belanda. Kesimpulan yang didapat dari penelitian ini adalah Asosiasi Nederlandsch – Indische Vereeniging tot Natuurbescherming merupakan tonggak awal berdirinya sebuah forum yang memperjuangkan pelestarian alam pertama di Hindia Belanda (Indonesia). The research method used in this research is the historical research method by applying five aspects, namely topic selection, source collection, data verification, interpretation, and historiography. The method is adapted to the approach through descriptive – narrative, emphasizing literature study and rewriting the information that has been obtained which is then combined in this research. The results obtained in this research are the Association of Nederlandsch – Indische Vereeniging tot Natuurbescherming is an association that is engaged in the first nature conservation activities in the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia). Association of Nederlandsch – Indische Vereeniging tot Natuurbescherming also plays a role as an advisor to the government in nature conservation activities in the Dutch East Indies. The Association also played a role in efforts to submit and designate areas that needed to be made into natural monuments as well as the formation of natural conservation legal products for the Dutch East Indies colonial government. The conclusion obtained from this research is the Association of Nederlandsch – Indische Vereeniging tot Natuurbescherming is the initial milestone in the first establishment of a forum that fights for the first nature conservation in the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia).
