Abstract

Tesis ini merupakan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan di SDN Cimanggis 02 untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah geometri melalui penerapan Problem Based Learning Berbasis Penalaran Spasial pada materi bangun ruang kubus dan balok. Latar belakang penulis yaitu berdasarkan pada studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan terhadap kelas VB SDN Cimanggis 02 yang siswanya secara umum belum mampu memahami masalah dari soal yang disajikan yaitu siswa tidak dapat mengidentifikasi informasi yang diketahui dan yang ditanyakan pada soal, serta tidak dapat menentukan strategi penyelesaian yang tepat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah model Kelmmis & Mc Taggart yang belrulpa sikluls spiral yaitu siklus yang alurnya berulang dan terus menerus mengalami penyempurnaan. Setiap siklusnya terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Tehnik pengumpulan data melalui tes, observasi, wawancara, catatan lapangan dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas VB yang berjumlah 38 siswa. Sampel penelitian difokuskan pada enam siswa yang diambil secara acak berdasarkan informasi dan pertimbangan dari guru kelas VB. Sampel enam siswa tersebut yaitu dua siswa dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah tinggi yaitu T1 dan T2, dua siswa dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah sedang yaitu S1 dan S2 serta yang memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah rendah yaitu R1 dan R2. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah tehnik deskriptif komparatif dan analisis deskriptif. Telhnik validasi data yang digulnakan adalah triangullasi data dengan jenis triangulasi sumber yaitu mengumpulkan data dari berbagai sumber yang ada di kelas. Pada siklus pertama, data menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah geometri siswa masih rendah. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil tes dan hasil observasi kelas. Berdasarkan hasil refleksi, peneliti melakukan beberapa perbaikan pada siklus kedua, yaitu diantaranya menyajikan video pembelajaran, membuat kesepakatan di awal kelas agar diskusi yang berlangsung lebih tertib. Hasil penelitian pada siklus kedua menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang terlihat dari hasil tes dan observasi kelas, kemudian hasil siklus III menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan yaitu 90% dilihat dari hasil tes, hasil observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa yang mencapai lebih dari 90%, wawancara dengan enam siswa yang menjadi sampel penelitian serta catatan lapangan dan dokumentasi. Dengan demikian penerapan Problem Based Learning Berbasis Penalaran Spasial terbukti efektif diterapkan di kelas VB SD Negeri Cimanggis 02 pada materi bangun ruang kubus dan balok. ***** This thesis is the result of research conducted at SDN Cimanggis 02 to determine the increase in geometric problem solving abilities through the application of Spatial Reasoning Based Problem Based Learning on cube and block geometric material. The author's background is based on a preliminary study conducted on the VB class at SDN Cimanggis 02 where students generally were not able to understand the problem of the questions presented, namely students were unable to identify the information that was known and what was asked about the question, and were unable to determine the appropriate solution strategy. . The research method used is the Kelmmis & Mc Taggart model which has the form of a spiral cycle, namely a cycle whose path repeats itself and continuously undergoes refinement. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely the planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. Data collection techniques through tests, observation, interviews, field notes and documentation. The research subjects were 38 VB class students. The research sample focused on six students taken randomly based on information and considerations from the VB class teacher. The sample of six students is two students with high problem solving abilities, namely T1 and T2, two students with moderate problem solving abilities, namely S1 and S2 and those with low problem solving abilities, namely R1 and R2. The data analysis used is comparative descriptive techniques and descriptive analysis. The data validation technique used is data triangulation with a type of source triangulation, namely collecting data from various sources in the class. In the first cycle, the data showed that students' geometric problem solving abilities were still low. This can be seen from the test results and class observation results. Based on the results of the reflection, the researcher made several improvements in the second cycle, including presenting learning videos, making agreements at the beginning of class so that discussions took place more orderly. The results of the research in the second cycle showed an increase that was visible from test results and classroom observations, then the results of cycle III showed a significant increase of 90% seen from test results, results of observations of teacher and student activities, interviews with six students who were research samples and notes. field and existing documentation. Thus, the application of Problem Based Learning Based on Spatial Reasoning has proven to be effective in the VB class at SD Negeri Cimanggis 02 on the material of cubes and blocks.
