Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memberikan pengetahuan baru kepada siswa SMK kopi mengenai perbandingan konsumsi energi listrik pada mesin roasting X saat digunakan untuk menyangrai biji kopi Robusta Ijen dan Arabika Gayo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei dan eksperimental. Data diambil dari pengukuran langsung konsumsi energi listrik selama proses roasting. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa biji kopi Arabika Gayo memiliki konsumsi energi rata-rata sebesar 0,0152 kWh, sedangkan biji kopi Robusta Ijen memiliki konsumsi energi rata-rata sebesar 0,0135 kWh. Ini menunjukkan bahwa biji kopi Arabika Gayo membutuhkan sedikit lebih banyak energi dibandingkan dengan biji kopi Robusta Ijen. Dari segi biaya, proses roasting biji kopi Arabika Gayo membutuhkan rata-rata biaya sebesar Rp 2.508 per sesi dengan tarif dasar listrik Rp 1.650 per kWh. Sementara itu, proses roasting biji kopi Robusta Ijen membutuhkan biaya sebesar Rp 2.227,5 per sesi. Meskipun konsumsi energi biji kopi Robusta Ijen lebih rendah, biaya listrik untuk proses roasting kedua jenis biji kopi tersebut tidak berbeda signifikan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan efisiensi energi dalam proses roasting antara biji kopi Arabika Gayo dan Robusta Ijen, dengan Arabika Gayo mengkonsumsi energi sedikit lebih banyak dibandingkan Robusta Ijen. Hasil ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan tambahan bagi siswa SMK kopi dalam memahami konsumsi energi dan biaya operasional dalam proses roasting biji kopi. ***** This study aims to provide new knowledge to coffee vocational students regarding the comparison of electrical energy consumption on roasting machine X when used to roast Robusta Ijen and Arabica Gayo coffee beans. The research method used is a quantitative method with a survey and experimental approach. Data were taken from direct measurements of electrical energy consumption during the roasting process. The results showed that Gayo Arabica coffee beans had an average energy consumption of 0,0152 kWh, while Robusta Ijen coffee beans had an average energy consumption of 0,0135 kWh. This indicates that Gayo Arabica coffee beans require slightly more energy than Robusta Ijen coffee beans. In terms of cost, the roasting process of Gayo Arabica coffee beans requires an average cost of IDR 2.508 per session with a basic electricity tariff of IDR 1.650 per kWh. Meanwhile, the roasting process of Robusta Ijen coffee beans costs Rp 2.227,5 per session. Although the energy consumption of Robusta Ijen coffee beans is lower, the electricity cost for roasting both types of coffee beans is not significantly different. This study concludes that there is a difference in energy efficiency in the roasting process between Arabica Gayo and Robusta Ijen coffee beans, with Arabica Gayo consuming slightly more energy than Robusta Ijen. These results are expected to provide additional insights for coffee vocational students in understanding energy consumption and operational costs in the coffee bean roasting process.
