Abstract

Permasalahan mengenai bibir kering dan pecah-pecah kerap dijumpai di negara tropis karena paparan sinar matahari yang terlalu sering menyebabkan kekeringan pada kulit dan bibir. Bibir rentan untuk menghadapi berbagai masalah, seperti bibir kering, kusam, dan pecah-pecah. Tinted Lip balm adalah sediaan kosmetik bibir yang memiliki fungsi melembapkan sekaligus dapat memberikan efek warna, sehingga dapat memberikan fungsi perawatan sekaligus estetika pada bibir. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui formulasi sediaan tinted lip balm dari ekstrak daun miana sebagai pewarna alami serta hasil evaluasi terhadap sediaan tinted lip balm dari ekstrak daun miana (Coleus scutellarioides L.). Daun miana memiliki kadar antosianin tinggi yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pewarna alami. Formulasi ekstrak daun miana pada sediaan tinted lip balm yaitu 7,5%, 15%, dan 22,5%. Tiap formula dilakukan evaluasi sediaan yang meliputi uji organoleptik, uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji iritasi, dan uji stabilitas warna pada suhu ruang selama 7 hari. Dari data hasil penelitian pada evaluasi sediaan menunjukkan tinted lip balm memiliki warna, bentuk, dan aroma yang sesuai dengan kriteria SNI, tekstur homogen atau tidak ada butiran kristal, pH yang dihasilkan yaitu 5-6, dan stabil pada penyimpanan suhu ruang selama 7 hari. ***** The problem of dry and chapped lips is often found in tropical countries because too much exposure to sunlight causes dryness of the skin and lips. Lips are prone to various problems, such as dry, dull and chapped lips. Tinted lip balm is a lip cosmetic preparation that has a moisturizing function as well as providing a color effect, so that it can provide both care and aesthetic functions to the lips. The aim of this research is to determine the formulation of tinted lip balm preparations from miana leaf extract as a natural coloring as well as the evaluation results of tinted lip balm preparations from miana leaf extract (Coleus scutellarioides L.). Miana leaves have high levels of anthocyanin which can be used as a natural dye. The formulation of Miana leaf extract in tinted lip balm preparations is 7.5%, 15% and 22.5%. Each formula underwent a preparation evaluation which included organoleptic tests, homogeneity tests, pH tests, irritation tests, and color stability tests at room temperature for 7 days. From research data on preparation evaluation, it shows that tinted lip balm has color, shape and aroma that comply with SNI criteria, is homogeneous or has no crystal grains, the resulting pH is 5-6, and is stable at room temperature storage for 7 days.
