Abstract

Studi empiris sebelumnya telah menunjukkan bahwa investasi asing langsung memiliki keterkaitan dengan kondisi tata kelola yang baik dari negara tuan rumah. Penelitian ini untuk melihat apakah kualitas pemerintah telah menerapkan perubahan besar, sehingga memiliki efek substantif dalam faktor penting dalam daya tarik arus masuk FDI di negara-negara ASEAN+3 (Cina, Jepang dan Korea). Untuk menentukan pengaruh kualitas pemerintah terhadap investasi asing langsung di seluruh negara ASEAN+3 pada periode tahun 1996-2022, penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder dari World Bank dan Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI). Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data panel tidak seimbang dengan menggunakan Random Effect Model (REM) untuk menunjukkan ketahanan hasil. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Efektivitas Pemerintah dan Aturan Hukum memiliki dampak positif yang signifikan terhadap arus masuk investasi asing langsung di negara ASEAN+3. Selain itu, Stabilitas Politik, Suara dan Akuntabilitas, memiliki dampak negatif secara statistik pada arus masuk investasi asing langsung. Namun, Kualitas Regulasi dan Pengendalian Korupsi meskipun sama pentingnya, tidak signifikan untuk menarik arus masuk investasi asing langsung di negara ASEAN+3.***** Recent empirical studies have shown that FDI is expected to be strongly associated with good governance conditions in the host country. This study aims to determine the quality of government that has implemented major changes, thus having a substantive effect and an important factor in the attractiveness of FDI inflows in ASEAN+3 (Cina, Jepang, and Korea) countries. To determine the impact of government quality on FDI across ASEAN+3 countries in 1996-2022, this study utilizes secondary data from the World Bank and Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI). This study used the analysis technique of unbalanced panel data using the Random Effects Model (REM) to show the robustness of the results. The findings of this study indicate that Government Effectiveness and the Rule of Law significantly positively impact foreign direct investment inflows in ASEAN+3 countries. In addition, Political Stability, Voice, and Accountability have a statistically negative effect on foreign direct investment inflows. However, regulatory quality and corruption control, although equally important, are not significant enough to attract foreign direct investment inflows in ASEAN+3 countries.
