Abstract

*****ABSTRAK***** Penelitian ini menjelaskan tentang bentuk ketertindasan dan perlawanan wanita dalam novel Chicago karya ‘Alaa Al-Aswany. Metode penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dipakai adalah teknik membaca dan mencatat. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Chicago karya ‘Alaa Al-Aswany sebagai sumber data primer. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tokoh wanita dalam novel Chicago karya ‘Alaa Al-Aswany mengalami serangkaian penindasan, diskriminasi, dan beberapa kejadian yang tidak menyenangkan. Novel ini juga berbicara tentang perlawanan, bukan sekedar ketertindasan. Terdapat 14 bentuk ketertindasan yang dialami oleh wanita, yang terdiri dari dua bentuk eksploitasi, lima bentuk marginalisasi, tiga bentuk ketidakberdayaan, dua bentuk dominasi budaya, dan dua bentuk kekerasan. Kemudian terdapat lima bentuk perlawanan yang terdiri dari satu bentuk melalui ideologi, satu bentuk melalui biologis, satu bentuk melalui ekonomi dan pendidikan, satu bentuk melalui paksaan, dan satu lagi melalui psikologis. Kata Kunci: Ketertindasan, Perlawanan, Chicago, ‘Alaa Al-Aswany, Interseksionalitas *****ABSTRACT***** This research provides a statement about the forms of women’s oppression, while learning about women’s resistance against injustice in the novel Chicago by Alaa Al-Aswany. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive analysis. The data collection technique used in this research is the reading and note-taking technique. The source of data in this research is the novel Chicago by Alaa Al-Aswany as the main source. The findings of this research demonstrate that the female character in the novel Chicago by Alaa Al-Aswany faces a series of oppression, marginalization, and many unpleasant events from all parts of the intersection. This novel also talks about resistance, not just oppressions. There are 14 forms of women’s oppression, which consist of two forms of exploitation, five forms of marginalization, three forms of powerlessness, two forms of cultural domination, and two forms of violence. There are five forms of women’s resistance, which consist of one form through ideology, one form through biological, one form through economic and educational, one form through coercion, and one form through psychological.
