Abstract

Isu lingkungan menjadi sorotan utama di dunia, banyak pihak mulai dari praktisi, media, pemerintah, hingga akademisi, telah menyuarakan kekhawatiran mereka terhadap berbagai perubahan lingkungan yang terjadi. Upaya mengatasi hal tersebut dengan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebagai generasi penerus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh model flipped learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP pada materi ekologi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMPN 216 Jakarta pada bulan Januari hingga Juni 2024 dengan sampel sebanyak 72 siswa. Metode yang digunakan yaitu quasi experiment dengan desain pretest and posttest nonequivalent control group design. Hasil penelitian menggunakan uji non-parametrik dengan Mann-Whitney U test pada data gain score menunjukkan bahwa model flipped learning pada materi isu lingkungan berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,49 (sedang).***** Environmental issues have become a major focus globally, with various stakeholders, including practitioners, media, governments, and academics, expressing their concerns about the ongoing environmental changes. To address these issues, efforts must be made to improve students' critical thinking skills as the next generation. This study aims to determine the impact of the flipped learning model on the critical thinking skills of middle school students in ecology material. The research was conducted at SMPN 216 Jakarta from January to June 2024 with a sample size of 72 students. The method used is quasi-experiment with a pretest and posttest nonequivalent control group design. The results, using the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test on the gain score data, show that the flipped learning model on environmental issues has an effect on students' critical thinking skills with an N-gain value of 0.49 (medium category).
