Abstract

Metode Empiris Pseudopotensial adalah cara pemodelan elektron-elektron pada suatu bahan untuk dipelajari karakteristik fisis dari bahan tersebut. Salah satu besaran fisis yang dapat diteliti menggunakan metode Pseudopotensial adalah besaran celah pita energi. Melalui metode ini perhitungan hanya melibatkan elektron kulit terluar saja dan mengabaikan elektron pada kulit terdalam untuk mengetahui karakteristik suatu material. Pengujian metode empiris pseudopotensial pada semikonduktor ZnO memberikan hasil yang konsisten dari berbagai jenis variasi perlakuan. Diantara perlakuan tersebut adalah variasi iterasi dan variasi interaksi atom. Dari kedua perlakuan tersebut didapatkan hasil konsisten lebar celah pita energi sebesar 3,47 eV dimana hal ini hanya berbeda 0.07 dari data literatur ZnO. Dengan konsistensi dan akurasi perhitungan tersebut, metode pseudopotensial dapat diandalkan dalam mengetahui karakteristik material khususnya untuk mengetahui lebar celah pita energi. ************************************ Pseudopotential Empirical Method is a method of modelling electrons in a material to study the physical characteristics of the material. One of the physical quantities that can be studied using the Pseudopotential method is the energy band gap energy. Through this method, the calculation only involves electrons in the outermost shell and ignores the electrons in the innermost shell to determine the characteristics of a material. Tests of pseudopotential empirical methods on ZnO semiconductors provide consistent results from various types of treatment variations. Among these treatments are iteration variations and atomic interaction variations. From the two treatments, the results were consistent with the energy band gap width of 3.47 eV, where this was only 0.07 different from the ZnO literature data. With the consistency and accuracy of these calculations, the pseudopotential method can be relied on in knowing the characteristics of the material, especially to determine the width of the energy band gap.
