Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh pendekatan CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP Negeri 99 Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode quasi experiment dengan post-test only control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan untuk menentukan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol adalah teknik cluster random sampling. Kelas tersebut juga telah memenuhi syarat dalam uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan kesamaan rata-rata. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah hasil tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada materi bilangan berpangkat. Instrumen tes berbentuk soal uraian yang terdiri dari empat soal yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis diperoleh nilai thitung = 2,965 > ttabel = 1,666, maka tolak H0 pada taraf signifikansi a = 0,05. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pendekatan CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP Negeri 99 Jakarta. Berdasarkan perhitungan besar pengaruh diperoleh d = 0,690, dengan presentase sebesar 73% yang termasuk ke dalam kategori sedang. ***************************************** This study aims to determine wheter ther is an effect of the CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) Approach to the Ability of Mathematical Communication of Students at 99 Junior High School Jakarta. The research method used is a quasi–experimental method with a post-test only control group design. The sampling used to determine the experimental class and control class is cluster random sampling. The class has also fulfilled the requirements in the tests of normality, homogeneity, and average similarity. The research instrument used was the result of the students mathematical communication ability tests on the material of rank number. The test instrument is in the form of a dscription question consisting of four questions that have been tested for validity and reliability. The hypothesis testing is conducted by using t-test. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, the value of tcount = 2,965 > ttable = 1,666, thus H0 is rejected at the significance a= 0,05. This shows that there is an effect of the CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) Approach to the Ability of Mathematical Communication of Students at 99 Junior High School Jakarta. Based on the calculation of the magnitude of the influence obtained d = 0,690 , with percentage of 73 % which is falls under in the medium category.
