Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi mengenai pengaruh model pembelajaran concept attainment terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Penelitian berlokasi di MTs Negeri 28 Jakarta dengan populasi terjangkaunya adalah siswa kelas VII semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan cara quasi experiment (eksperimen semu). Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling yaitu dari lima kelas yang telah dinyatakan berdistribusi normal, homogen, dan memiliki kesamaan rata-rata akan dipilih dua kelas secara acak untuk dijadikan sebagai kelas eksperimen (kelas yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran concept attainment) dan kelas kontrol (kelas yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung). Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes akhir kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada materi persamaan linear satu variabel sebanyak 5 butir soal uraian. Berdasarkan hasil uji prasyarat analisis data, kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol masing-masing berasal dari populasi yang berdistribusi normal dan kedua kelas memiliki varians yang homogen. Dengan demikian pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan uji t. Pada nilai α = 0,05 diperoleh nilai thitung = 2,213 dan nilai ttabel = 2,003. Oleh karena nilai thitung > ttabel, maka diperoleh keputusan tolak H0. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif yang signifikan dari penerapan model pembelajaran concept attainment terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa di MTs Negeri 28 Jakarta pada materi persamaan linear satu variabel. Adapun besarnya pengaruh yang dihitung menggunakan rumus Cohen’s Effect Size memberikan hasil sebesar 73% yang berarti memberikan pengaruh yang sedang. ************************************************************ This study aims to obtain information about the effect of the concept attainment learning model on the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts. The research is located at MTs Negeri 28 Jakarta with the affordable population being class VII students in the odd semester of the 2019/2020 academic year. The research method was carried out by means of a quasi-experimental. The sample selection was carried out using a cluster random sampling technique, that is, from five classes that have been declared to be normally distributed, homogeneous, and have the same average, two classes will be chosen randomly to be used as the experimental class (the class that learns using the concept attainment learning model) and the control class (classes that learn using conventional learning models). The research instrument used was the final test of students' ability to understand mathematical concepts in linear equations of one variable as many as 5 items of description. Based on the results of the data analysis prerequisite test, the experimental class and the control class each came from a normally distributed population and both classes had homogeneous variances. Thus, hypothesis testing is done by t-test. At the value of α = 0,05, the value of tcount = 2,213 and the value of ttable = 2,003. Because the value of tcount > ttable, the decision to reject H0 is obtained. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that there is a significant positive effect from the application of the concept attainment learning model on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students at MTs Negeri 28 Jakarta on the one-variable linear equation material. The magnitude of the effect calculated using the Cohen's Effect Size formula gives a result of 73% which means it has a moderate effect.
