Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian film biodegradabel PVA-Kitosan dengan mikrokristal- selulosa dari kulit durian yang ditambahkan dengan gliserol sebagai plasticizer. Penelitian ini dibuat dengan tujuan sintesis film biodegradable PVA – Kitosan dengan penambahan Mikrokristal selulosa sebagai penguat film dan gliserol sebagai plasticizer, sehingga menghasilkan film yang memiliki sifat mekanis sesuai Standar Nasional Indonesia dan memiliki laju degradasi yang baik. Penelitian ini di latar belakangi oleh penanggulangan limbah kulit durian melalui pemanfaatan limbah kulit durian sebagai penguat atau filler pada film yang biodegradable, karena kulit durian memiliki kadar selulosa yang tinggi yaitu 50-60% selulosa. Pada penelitian inidigunakan metode eksperimental terkait isolasi kulit durian melalui proses delignifikasi, bleaching, hidrolisis asam dan sintesis film biodegradable dengan metode solution casting (pencetakan larutan). Hasil mikrokristal selulosa (MCC) memiliki bentuk seperti serbuk berwarna krem dengan derajat kristalinitas sebesar 54.43% dan ukuran partikel sebesar 200nm dan hasil film biodegradable memiliki sifat mekanis dengan nilai kuat tarik maksimum sebesar 15.49, memiliki aktivitas anti bakteri terhadap E.Coli dan S. Aureus, laju degradasi sebesar 0.26mg/hari dan memiliki daya serap yang baik. Film PVA – Kitosan dengan penambahan mikrokristal selulosa memiliki sifat mekanis yang baik, dapat terdegradasi, memiliki daya serap yang baik dan memiliki aktivitas antibakteri. ********************** The research of film biodegradable PVA-chitosan with microcrystal-cellulose from durian peel added with glycerol as a plasticizer. This research was made with the aim of synthesizing biodegradable PVA – Chitosan films with the addition of microcrystal cellulose as a film reinforcement and glycerol as a plasticizer, so as to produce a film that has mechanical properties according to the Indonesian National Standard and has a good degradation rate. This research aims ro overcome by the handling of durian skin waste in one way, namely utilizing durian skin waste as a reinforcement or filler in biodegradable films because durian skin has a high cellulose content, namely 50-60% cellulose. In this research, using experimental methods related to the isolation of durian skin by going through the process of delignification, bleaching, acid hydrolysis and synthesis of biodegradable films by the solution casting method. Produce microcrystal cellulose (MCC) in the form of cream-colored powder with a degree of crystallinity of 54.43% and a particle size of 200nm and produce a biodegradable film that has mechanical properties with a maximum tensile strength value of 15.49, has anti-bacterial activity against E.Coli and S. Aureus, has a degradation rate of 0.26mg/day and has good absorption. PVA – Chitosan film with the addition of microcrystalline cellulose has good mechanical properties, can be degraded, has good absorption and has antibacterial activity.
