Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat model belajar renang gaya bebas usia 9-11 tahun. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) dari Borg and Gall dengan subjek peserta didik di beberapa sekolah dasar di kota Makassar. Jumlah subjek pada saat uji coba kelompok kecil sebanyak 20 orang dan pada saat uji coba kelompok besar 80 orang, sedangkan jumlah subjek pada saat uji efektifitas sebannyak 90 orang. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara, angket dan tes penilaian kemampuan renang gaya bebas. Hasil penelitian ini adalah:1). Menghasilkan model belajar renang gaya bebas usia 9-11 tahun, 2). Terdapat hasil validasi ahli yang menyatakan 28 model belajar keterampilan renang gaya bebas yang layak diterapkan, 3). Model belajar yang dibuat terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan renang gaya bebas. Terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan belajar renang gaya bebas setelah melakukan model ini. ***** This study aims to create a freestyle swimming learning model for ages 9-11 years. The method used in this study was Research and Development (R&D) from Borg and Gall with students in several elementary schools around Makassar as subjects. There were two groups during trials consisting of 20 students in the small group and 80 students in the large group. Then, the number of subjects during the effectiveness test was 90 students. The instruments employed field observation, interviews, questionnaires and freestyle swimming ability assessment tests. The results of this study indicated that: 1). The results were a freestyle swimming skills learning model for ages 9-11 years, 2). There were the results of expert validation stating that 28 freestyle swimming skill learning models were feasible to be applied, 3). Learning models had been proven the effectiveness in improving freestyle swimming styles. Thus, there is a significant increase in learning freestyle swimming skills after doing this model.
