Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan dan menguji kelayakan produk e-comic pencemaran lingkungan berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) serta menguji peningkatan kepedulian lingkungan peserta didik kelas VII SMP setelah menggunakan e-comic pencemaran lingkungan berbasis PBL. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari–Agustus 2023. Produk dikembangkan pada peserta didik Kelas VII di SMP Negeri 159 Jakarta dan SMP Negeri 264 Jakarta. Penelitian ini mengadopsi metode mixed methods, menggabungkan rancangan penelitian kualitatif dengan model pengembangan Research and Development (4D) Thiagarajan pada tahap awal dan rancangan kuantitatif quasi-eksperimen pada tahap selanjutnya. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes pilihan ganda mengukur aspek berwawasan lingkungan, kuesioner mengukur aspek bersikap dalam upaya mencegah kerusakan lingkungan, dan kuesioner mengukur aspek bertindak dalam mewujudukan kepedulian lingkungan. Temuan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yaitu i. produk e-comic pencemaran lingkungan berbasis PBL yang dikembangkan melalui model 4D Thiagarajan telah dinyatakan layak berdasarkan tahapan define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Tahapan develop, e-comic pencemaran lingkungan berbasis PBL telah diuji coba pada kelompok kecil dan besar, menghasilkan respon positif serta peningkatan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,47; ii. Hasil uji Independent Sample T-Test (Sig. 2-tailed 0,000 < 0.05) menunjukkan peningkatan kepedulian lingkungan peserta didik kelas VII SMP setelah diberi pembelajaran e-comic pencemaran lingkungan berbasis PBL, diperkuat dengan nilai Cohen's effect size sebesar 1,4 yang mengindikasikan pengaruh yang sangat besar dari intervensi produk ini. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa e-comic pencemaran lingkungan berbasis PBL telah berhasil dikembangkan, dan memenuhi kelayakan, serta terbukti dapat meningkatkan kepedulian lingkungan peserta didik kelas VII SMP. Kata Kunci: E-Comic Pencemaran Lingkungan berbasis Problem Based Learning, Kepedulian Lingkungan ***** This research aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility of an environmental pollution e-comic based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL). It also seeks to evaluate the increase in environmental concern among 7th-grade students after using the PBL based e-comic. The product was introduced to 7th-grade students at SMP Negeri 159 Jakarta and SMP Negeri 264 Jakarta in 2023, from January to August. This study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining a qualitative methodology using the 4D research model developed by Thiagarajan for research and development (R&D) and a quantitative methodology using a quasi-experimental design. The research instruments include a multiple-choice test to measure students’ environmental concern and questionnaires to assess their active efforts in preventing environmental damage and their actions in demonstrating environmental concern. This research yielded the following findings: i. the product has been developed through the 4D research method's steps, which are define, design, develop, and disseminate. The product was deemed worthy by media, material, language, and learning experts’ appraisals. The N-Gain Score is 0.47 for the experimental class, showcasing the effectiveness of the product. ii. In accordance with the independent samples t-test hypothesis testing, a Sig. (2-tailed) result of 0.000 < 0.05 was acquired. The result means that the null hypothesis (H₀) can be rejected. This means that there is an increase in students’ environmental concern between the experimental and control classes, with a Cohen's effect percentage of 91.9, placing it in the big influence category on environmental concern. Based on that research result, it can be concluded that the product has been developed and is worthy, effective, and proven to be able to increase environmental concern amongst 7th grade students.
