Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara latar belakang pendidikan dengan hasil belajar mahasiswa program studi S1 Pendidikan Tata Busana Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian asosiatif korelasional dan metode survei. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket dan dokumentasi. Variabel latar belakang pendidikan diukur menggunakan skala ordinal berdasarkan jenjang dan jurusan pendidikan sebelum memasuki perguruan tinggi, sedangkan variabel hasil belajar diukur menggunakan skala ordinal berdasarkan nilai mata kuliah teori dan praktik. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa S1 Pendidikan Tata Busana angkatan 2020 yang berjumlah 59 orang dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh dengan jumlah sampel adalah 59 orang. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah Uji Chi-Square dengan Koefisien Kontingensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-sided) pada uji Chi-Square adalah sebesar 0,386>0,05. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara latar belakang pendidikan dengan hasil belajar mahasiswa Program Studi S1 Pendidikan Tata Busana. *****This research aims to determine whether there is a relationship between educational background and the academic performance of undergraduate students in the Fashion Education program at Jakarta State University. A quantitative approach was employed, using an associative correlational research design and a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation. The educational background variable was measured using an ordinal scale based on the level and field of study before entering university, while the academic performance variable was measured using an ordinal scale based on grades in both theoretical and practical courses. The study population consisted of 59 students from the 2020 cohort of the Fashion Education program, and the sample was determined using a saturated sampling technique, resulting in a total of 59 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that the Asymp. Sig. (2-sided) value of the Chi-Square test was 0.386>0,05. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between educational background and the academic performance of students in the undergraduate Fashion Design Education Program.
