Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mengetahui Peran Raden Ajoe Lasminingrat dalam mendirikan Sekolah Kautamaan Istri di Garut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian sejarah yaitu: heuristik, verifikasi, interpretasi dan histiografi dengan model deskriptif naratif. Penelitian dilakukan dengan melakukan pengumpulan sumber primer maupun sekunder berupa buku, skripsi, tesis, disertasi, jurnal, serta artikel lainnya yang relevan dengan topik penelitian. Hasil Penelitian yang didapat menunjukkan bahwa dalam Sejarah perkembangan Pendidikan Perempuan, terdapat tokoh yang berpengaruh dalam realisasi pendirian sekolah Perempuan di Jawa Barat, khususnya di Kabupaten Garut yaitu Raden Ajoe Lasminingrat. Lasminingrat merupakan tokoh Perempuan yang turut serta dalam pendirian sekolah Perempuan Bersama Dewi Sartika di Bandung. Pada tahun 1904 Dewi Sartika telah mendirikan sekolah khusus perempuan di Bandung bernama “sekolah istri”. Namun hal tersebut tidak lepas dari persetujuan Bupati Bandung pada saat itu R.A.A Martanegara dan campur tangan dari Lasminingrat. Tak lama setelahnya, pada tahun 1907, Lasminingrat mendirikan sekolah Perempuan di kabupaten garut yang Bernama “Sakola kautamaan istri”. Guru dan murid di sekolah ini seluruhnya adalah Perempuan. Kurikulum yang ditetapkan pada saat berdirinya Sakola kautamaan istri adalah Tweede Klasse School. Berlokasi di ruangan pendopo yang sekarang menjadi pusat kota di Garut. Pada awalnya murid Sakola kautamaan istri hanya dari kalangan kerabat keluarga, hingga di tahun 1911 mengalami peningkatan kurang lebih mencapai 200 murid, dan pada tahun 1934 mengalami perpindahan kepemimpinan dari Raden Ajoe Lasminingrat ke Raden Ajoe Poernamaningrat. Kata Kunci: Raden Ajoe Lasminingrat, Pendidikan Perempuan, Sakola kautamaan istri. ***** This study aims to: (1) Determine the Role of Raden Ajoe Lasminingrat in establishing the Kautamaan Istri School in Garut. The research method used is the historical research method, namely: heuristics, verification, interpretation and historiography with a descriptive narrative model. The research was conducted by collecting primary and secondary sources in the form of books, theses, dissertations, journals, and other articles relevant to the research topic. The research results obtained indicate that in the History of the Development of Women's Education, there are influential figures in the realization of the establishment of Women's schools in West Java, especially in Garut Regency, namely Raden Ajoe Lasminingrat. Lasminingrat is a female figure who participated in the establishment of the Women's School with Dewi Sartika in Bandung. In 1904 Dewi Sartika had established a special school for women in Bandung called "Sekolah Istri". However, this could not be separated from the approval of the Regent of Bandung at that time, R.A.A Martanegara and the intervention of Lasminingrat. Shortly after, in 1907, Lasminingrat founded a girls school in Garut district called "Sakola kautamaan istri". All teachers and students at this school were women. The curriculum set at the time of the establishment of Sakola kautamaan istri was Tweede Klasse School. Located in the pendopo room which is now the city center in Garut. Initially, the students of Sakola kautamaan istri were only from among family relatives, until in 1911 there was an increase of approximately 200 students, and in 1934 there was a transfer of leadership from Raden Ajoe Lasminingrat to Raden Ajoe Poernamaningrat.
