Abstract
Sawi samhong merupakan tanaman sayuran yang menjanjikan karena umur panen yang sangat singkat serta kaya akan manfaat kesehatan. Produksi sawi samhong dapat ditingkatkan dengan pemilihan kualitas benih, metode budidaya serta sumber nutrisi yang baik dengan penggunaan POC. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan (1) kultivar benih sawi samhong yang baik, (2) komposisi POC yang tidak toksik, (3) POC yang memberikan pertumbuhan vegetatif optimum. Tahapan penelitian eksperimental ini yaitu (1) Uji viabilitas dan vigoritas benih 3 varietas sawi samhong, (2) Uji toksisitas POC, (3) Analisis kandungan penyusun POC, dan (4) Pertumbuhan tanaman sawi samhong pada AB Mix dan POC. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 6 perlakuan, dan 5 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kultivar benih sawi samhong ‘Keai’ memiliki viabilitas yang tinggi dengan persentase Daya Berkecambah (DB) dan Potensi Tumbuh Maksimum (PTM) sebesar 91,20% dan 93,40% dan vigoritas dengan persentase Kecepatan Tumbuh (KCT) 8,45%, Indeks Vigoritas (IV) 45,60%, dan Keserempakan Tumbuh (KST) 64,80%. Hasil uji POC yang dihasilkan tidak bersifat toksik. Evaluasi pertumbuhan tanaman sawi samhong menunjukkan bahwa pemberian POC, belum memberikan pengaruh yang nyata pada karakter pertumbuhan yang diamati (tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, lebar daun, panjang daun, panjang akar, dan bobot basah). Namun pemberian POC 8 ml/L mampu meningkatkan kadar klorofil daun yang berfungsi sebagai anti radikal bebas pada sawi samhong, sehingga hasil penelitian ini sangat prospektif untuk dikembangkan sebagai alternatif penggunaan pupuk hayati untuk meningkatkan kadar klorofil. ***** Samhong mustard greens are a promising vegetable crop because they have a very short harvest time and are rich in health benefits. Production of Samhong mustard greens can be enhanced by selecting quality seeds, effective cultivation methods, and optimal nutritional sources. This study aimed to determine (1) the most suitable Samhong mustard seed cultivar, (2) a non-toxic POC composition, and (3) POC formulations that promote optimal vegetative growth. The experimental research involved several stages: (1) testing the viability and vigour of seeds from three varieties of Samhong mustard greens, (2) assessing the toxicity of POC, (3) analyzing the constituent components of POC, and (4) evaluating the growth of Samhong mustard plants using AB Mix and POC. The research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six treatments and five replications. The results showed that the Samhong mustard seed cultivar 'Keai' had high viability with a Percentage of Germination and Maximum Growth Potential of 91.20% and 93.40%. Plant vigour has a percentage of Growth Speed of 8.45 %, a Vigority Index of 45.60%, and Simultaneous Growth of 64.80%. The POC test results were not toxic to the plant. Evaluation of the growth of Samhong mustard greens showed that applying POC did not have an optimum effect on the observed growth characteristics (plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, leaf length, root length or fresh weight). However, applying 8 ml/L POC increased leaf chlorophyll levels, functioning as an anti-free radical in Samhong mustard greens. The results of this study are very prospective to be developed as an alternative to using biological fertilizer.
