Renisa Anjarwati Ababil (2025). Citra Perempuan dan Ketidakadilan Gender dalam Novel Tutur Dedes Doa dan Kutukan karya Amalia Yunus: Kritik Sastra Feminisme. Program Studi Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia. Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni. Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Januari 2025. The Representation of Women and Gender Inequality in the Novel Tutur Dedes: Doa dan Kutukan by Amalia Yunus: A Feminist Literary Criticism Approach. Study Program of Indonesian Language and Literature, Faculty of Language and Arts, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. January 2025. Gender inequality caused by patriarchal culture remains a significant issue in society and is often reflected in literature. The novel Tutur Dedes: Doa dan Kutukan by Amalia Yunus is set in the 12th to 13th century and highlights women's struggles against gender inequality. This study aims to describe the structure of the novel, the representation of women, and gender inequality through a descriptive qualitative method, employing documentation techniques and the interactive data analysis model by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The approach used in this research is feminist literary criticism, specifically the perspective of women as readers. The findings reveal that (1) The structural elements of the novel are interconnected, with a linear yet occasionally flashback narrative; the primary settings are Pakuwon Tumapel and Kutaraja; and the central character, Ken Dedes, embodies a critique of patriarchy. (2) Gender inequality in the novel includes marginalization, subordination, negative stereotyping, and both physical and psychological violence. No evidence of workload inequality is found. (3) The representation of women includes Ken Dedes' physical image as a beautiful woman trapped in patriarchal structures; her psychological resilience despite internal conflicts; and her social role as a wife, mother, and royal consort (prameswari). The novel delivers a critique of patriarchal culture and offers a new perspective on women’s experiences within society. Keywords: Feminist Literary Criticism, Representation of Women, Gender Inequality.
