Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan mengenai tahapan dari kegiatan pemberdayaan yang dilakukan melalui program pengolahan sampah organik dengan maggot, serta dampak yang dirasakan oleh masyarakat setelah berpartisipasi dalam pemberdayaan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik wawancara, observasi, dan observasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif deskriptif dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pengurus Tempat Pengolahan Sampah Terpadu Reuse, Reduce, and Recyle (TPST3R) melaksanakan kegiatan pemberdayaan yang mengacu pada 3 dimensi tahapan terjadinya pemberdayaan, yaitu tahap penyadaran dan pembentukan perilaku, tahap transformasi kemampuan berupa wawasan pengetahuan, dan tahap peningkatan kemampuan intelektual. Berdasarkan data informasi yang didapat dari kegiatan pemberdayaan oleh pengurus TPST3R, bahwa kegiatan pemberdayaan yang dilakukan memberikan penyadaran terhadap isu lingkungan, serta memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mengenai langkah-langkah pengolahan sampah organik dengan maggot sebagai salah satu solusi permasalahan sampah yang dapat memberikan peluang pendapatan. Masyarakat menyatakan bahwa memiliki kesadaran untuk lebih perduli dengan lingkungan serta memiliki tambahan ilmu pengetahuan dan keterampilan mengenai pengolahan sampah sebagai upaya meningkatkan kualitas diri. Masyarakat juga menyatakan pemberdayaan melalui pengolahan sampah organik dengan maggot selain memberikan peluang bagi warga untuk ikut bergabung untuk bekerja di TPST3R, serta menghasilkan suatu produk yang bernilai ekonomi sehingga dapat dijual untuk menambah pendapatan. Maka pihak pengurus TPST3R dapat mengembangkan program pengolahan sampah organik dengan maggot tersebut sebagai kegiatan pemberdayaan bagi masyarakat. ***** This study aims to describe the stages of empowerment activities carried out through the organic waste processing program with maggots, as well as the impact felt by the community after participating in the empowerment process. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive analysis method. Data is collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis technique is conducted qualitatively and descriptively, following the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings indicate that the management of the Integrated Waste Processing Site for Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle (TPST3R) implements empowerment activities based on three dimensions of the empowerment process: the awareness and behavior formation stage, the transformation of knowledge and skills stage, and the enhancement of intellectual abilities stage. Based on the information obtained from the empowerment activities conducted by the TPST3R management, these activities raise awareness about environmental issues and provide knowledge and skills on the steps of organic waste processing with maggots as a solution to waste problems while creating income opportunities. The community stated that they have become more aware of environmental concerns and have gained additional knowledge and skills in waste processing as an effort to improve their quality of life. Furthermore, the community acknowledged that empowerment through organic waste processing with maggots not only provides opportunities for residents to work at TPST3R but also generates economically valuable products that can be sold to increase income. Therefore, TPST3R management can further develop the organic waste processing program with maggots as a community empowerment initiative.
