Abstract

Community service entails training elementary school teachers in using Microsoft Excel to solve linear programming problems. Linear programming is a mathematical method that optimizes maximum and minimum values. Solving linear programming problems involves creating a mathematical model with linear inequalities, solving the inequality system, plotting the solution area, determining the coordinates of the corner points, and finding the optimum value. Utilizing software for learning is a practical approach to enhancing learners' proficiency in solving linear programming problems. Microsoft Excel has been chosen as the software, as it encourages participants to engage in learning actively. The community service implementation consists of three activities. Firstly, there will be a theoretical presentation on linear programming. Secondly, a workshop will focus on implementing linear programming problems in Microsoft Excel. Thirdly, there will be a practical session where participants will independently work in groups to solve linear programming problems. The expected outcome is an improvement in the soft skills of elementary school teachers in the Sukabumi district, particularly in their ability to solve linear programming problems.
