Abstract

This training aims to improve teachers' capacity in compiling questions that challenge students to think more deeply, in accordance with HOTS standards. The main target of this training is teachers from all levels of education in Muara Gembong District. Each level of education has its own characteristics, but the development of HOTS-based questions can be applied at all levels, from elementary to vocational schools. The results of the needs analysis identified that many teachers still need to improve their understanding of pedagogy and fields of study. In addition, in the training on learning oriented to high-level thinking skills, the pretest results showed an average score of 55 points while the posttest results showed an average score of 70 points, this result indicates an increase in value of 15 points from the initial understanding. Although this result is still below the expected value, namely: 75%. The results obtained in this activity include: (1) increasing teachers' understanding of the HOTS-oriented learning approach; (2) increasing teachers' pedagogical and field of study competencies in managing classroom learning. The follow-up analysis in this activity is: (1) Assisting teachers in making planning plans; (2) Assistance for teachers in developing HOTS-oriented learning tools.
