Abstract

Community service activities aim to improve students' literacy skills by strengthening teachers' teaching beliefs, as well as assisting teachers in creating a creative learning atmosphere in the classroom. This problem is the main priority of the school based on the results of the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) the school still gets a red report card on student literacy and numeracy. Activities will be carried out in the form of in-house training carried out at partner schools. Activities will be carried out with various methods and held in two sessions. The activity was attended by 52 teachers from elementary, MTs and SMK levels and was also attended by foundation and committee representatives from each school. Based on the results of the qualitative evaluation, it was found that the participants were very satisfied with the material provided and were right on target according to the needs of the participants. Empirically, the results of pretest and posttest data analysis show that the mean post test results are much higher than the mean pretest results. The results of paired sample t-test processing show that there are significant differences between pretest and posttest in community service activity participants. These results indicate that the material provided has an impact on participants' understanding of the beliefs in becoming a teacher. There is an increase in understanding experienced by participants who can believe and live their profession as a teacher.
