Abstract

Penerjemahan sebagai sebuah kegiatan ideologis menemui tantangannya ketika menerjemahan karya sastra. Ideologi yang terekam dalam satuan lingual karya sastra menjadi tantangan bagi penerjemah untuk dicarikan padanannya di TSa. Salah satu ideologi yang terkandung dalam karya sastra adalah perlawanan terhadap marginalisasi perempuan, bernama ideologi feminis. Kebutuhan panduan dalam menerjemahkan ideologi mendorong peneliti untuk melakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk memeroleh pemahaman mendalam dan mendeskripsikan: (1) representasi ideologi feminis dalam satuan lingual berideologi feminis dan perangkat ideologinya dalam novel Bumi Manusia; (2) teknik, metode, dan ideologi penerjemah dalam menerjemahkan satuan lingual berideologi feminis dan perangkat ideologi dari novel Bumi Manusia ke dalam novel This Earth of Mankind; (3) kualitas penerjemahan satuan lingual berideologi feminis; dan menyusun (4) model penerjemahan satuan lingual berideologi feminis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi induktif model Phillip Myring. Sumber data diambil dari novel bahasa Indonesia Bumi Manusia dan novel terjemahannya This Earth of Mankind. Penelitian ini merupakan kajian interdisipliner karena melibatkan disiplin ilmu bahasa dan budaya. Kajian ini menggunakan konsep utama berupa Analisis Wacana Kritis Sara Mills, konsep satuan lingual oleh Chaer, teknik penerjemahan oleh Molina dan Albir, ideologi penerjemahan oleh Venuti dan Hatim-Mason, metode penerjemahan oleh Newmark, perangkat ideologi oleh van Dijk, dan assesmen kualitas oleh House dan Machali. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik simak dan catat. Prosedur analisis data dilakukan melalui tahap pemeriksaan kredibilitas, dependabilitas, transferabilitas, dan konfirmabilitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) karakterisasi representasi ideologi feminis dalam satuan lingual; (2) teknik penerjemahan yang dominan digunakan adalah transposisi; ideologi penerjemah berupa domestikasi; metode yang diterapkan berupa adaptasi, idiomatik, dan komunikatif; perangkat ideologi berupa pilihan kata dan konstruksi retorika; (3) hasil terjemahan berkualitas tinggi dengan indikator membawa makna dan fungsi yang sama dengan TSa, terdapat perubahan gramatika tapi tidak mengubah makna, terjemahan memiliki kesan penyampaian yang tidak kaku; dan (4) model konseptual penerjemahan satuan lingual berideologi feminis yang terdiri dari prosedur penerapan, ceklis panduan identifikasi satuan lingual berideologi feminis, pilihan teknik penerjemahan satuan lingual berideologi, dan parameter penilaian satuan lingual berideologi feminis. ***** Translation as an ideological activity encounters its challenges when translating literary works. The ideology recorded in the linguistic units of literary works becomes a challenge for translators to find equivalents in the TT. One of the ideologies contained in literary works is resistance to the marginalization of women, called feminist ideology. The need for guidance in translating ideology encourages researchers to conduct research aimed at gaining a deep understanding and describing: (1) the representation of feminist ideology in linguistic units with feminist ideology and its ideological devices in the novel Bumi Manusia; (2) the techniques, methods, and ideologies of translators in translating linguistic units with feminist ideology and ideological devices from the novel Bumi Manusia into the novel This Earth of Mankind; (3) the quality of translation of linguistic units with feminist ideology; and compiling (4) a translation model for lingual units with feminist ideology. This study is a qualitative study using the inductive content analysis method of the Phillip Myring model. The data sources are taken from the Indonesian novel Bumi Manusia and its translated novel This Earth of Mankind. This study is an interdisciplinary study because it involves the disciplines of language and culture. This study uses the main concepts of Sara Mills' Critical Discourse Analysis, the concept of lingual units by Chaer, translation techniques by Molina and Albir, translation ideology by Venuti and Hatim-Mason, translation methods by Newmark, ideological devices by van Dijk, and quality assessment by House and Machali. Data were collected through note-taking techniques. The research procedure conducted through credibility, dependability, transferability, and confirmability checking. The results of the study show: (1) characterization of the representation of feminist ideology in lingual units; (2) the dominant translation technique used is transposition; the translator's ideology is in the form of domestication; the methods applied are adaptation, idiomatic, and communicative; ideological devices are in the form of word choice and rhetorical construction; (3) high-quality translation results with indicators of carrying the same meaning and function as the TT, there are grammatical changes but do not change the meaning, the translation has the impression of a delivery that is not rigid; and (4) a conceptual model of translating lingual units with a feminist ideology consisting of application procedures, a checklist of guidelines for identifying lingual units with a feminist ideology, a choice of translation techniques for lingual units with an ideology, and parameters for assessing lingual units with a feminist ideology.
