Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah, 1) mengetahui peningkatan latihan blocking dengan menggunakan weight belt 2) mengetahui peningkatan latihan blocking dengan menggunakan water back spider 3) perbandingan latihan menggunakan weight belt dan water back spider terhadap blocking pada atlet polo air 4) mengetahui manakah yang lebih efektif antara latihan menggunakan weight belt dan water back spider terhadap blocking pada atlet polo air. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada menggunakan purposive sampling. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumblah 20 atlet polo air putra DKI Jakarta. Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan instrumen tes vertical jump sebanyak 3 kali. Setelah diberikan latihan sebanyak 16 kali pertemuan selanjutnya data dianalisis dengan menggunakan SPSS, uji normalitas dengan menggunakan Shapiro-Wilk diperoleh pre-test 0,940 dan post-test 0,932 dengan menggunakan weight belt dengan standar deviasi 1,430, sedangkan dengan water back spider diperoleh pre-test 0,952 dan post-test 0,932, dengan standar deviasi 1,418. Terdapat pada tabel uji-t dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05 memiliki Sig. (2-tailed). Taraf signifikansi weight belt 0,000 dan water back spider 0,100, maka alat pembebanan berbasis water back spider signifikan terhadap blocking pada atlet polo air. Hasil dari penelitian ini 1) terdapat peningkatan latihan blocking menggunakan weight belt 2) terdapat peningkatan latihan blocking menggunakan water back spider 3) adanya perbandingan latihan menggunakan weight belt dan water back spider terhadap blocking pada atlet polo air 4) diketahui bahwa water back spider lebih efektif dalam peningkatan hasil blocking pada atlet polo air. ********** The objectives of this study are: 1) to determine the improvement in blocking performance through training using a weight belt, 2) to determine the improvement in blocking performance through training using a water back spider, 3) to compare the effectiveness of training using a weight belt and a water back spider on blocking performance in water polo athletes, and 4) to identify which training method is more effective in enhancing blocking performance among water polo athletes. This study employed an experimental research method. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The sample consisted of 20 male water polo athletes from DKI Jakarta. Data collection was conducted using a vertical jump test, performed three times. After 16 training sessions, the data were analyzed using SPSS. Normality testing with the Shapiro-Wilk test showed pre-test and post-test values of 0.940 and 0.932 respectively for the weight belt group (standard deviation = 1.430), and 0.952 and 0.932 respectively for the water back spider group (standard deviation = 1.418). The t-test table with a significance level of 0.05 showed Sig. (2-tailed) values of 0.000 for the weight belt and 0.100 for the water back spider. These results indicate that training using the water back spider has a significant effect on blocking performance in water polo athletes. The findings of this study are: 1) blocking training using a weight belt leads to performance improvement, 2) blocking training using a water back spider also leads to performance improvement, 3) there is a comparison between the effects of training using a weight belt and a water back spider on blocking performance, and 4) the water back spider is found to be more effective in improving blocking performance in water polo athletes.
