Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahuI pengaruh model pembelajaran STEAM terhadap hasil belajar IPS peserta didik di SMPN 167 Jakarta. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara kuantitatif menggunakan metode penelitian Quasi Experiment dengan Nonequivalent Control Group Design yang membandingkan nilai pretest dan posttest kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu seluruh peserta didik kelas VII SMP Negeri 167 Jakarta. Dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, jumlah peserta didik yang sama dengan rata-rata nilai yang setara yaitu terpilih kelas VII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VII B sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif dengan bantuan software SPSS melalui uji normalitas data, uji homogenitas dan uji T sebagai uji hipotesis. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran STEAM lebih baik dari kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran ceramah. Terbukti dari rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 73,97 sementara rata-rata posttest kelas kontrol 62,76. Adapun hasil uji T menunjukkan bahwa Ha diterima dengan nilai Sig. 0,004 < 0,05 dan hasil uji pengaruh dCohen’s sebesar 0,07 dengan kategori sedang sebesar 76%. Disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran STEAM berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar IPS peserta didik kelas VII pada materi pemberdayaan masyarakat Kata Kunci: Model Pembelajaran STEAM, Eksperimen, Hasil Belajar, IPS ******* This study was conducted to determine the effect of the STEAM learning model on the social studies learning outcomes of students at SMPN 167 Jakarta. This study was conducted quantitatively using a quasi-experimental research method with a nonequivalent control group design that compared the pretest and posttest scores of the experimental group and the control group. The population in this study was all seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 167 Jakarta. Using purposive sampling, the number of students with equivalent average scores was selected, with class VII A as the experimental class and VII B as the control class. Data analysis was conducted quantitatively using SPSS software through data normality tests, homogeneity tests, and T-tests as hypothesis tests. The research results showed that the learning outcomes of students in the experimental class using the STEAM learning model were better than those in the control class using the lecture learning model. This was evident from the average post-test score of the experimental class, which was 73.97, while the average post-test score of the control class was 62.76. The T-test results showed that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted with a significance level (Sig.) of 0.004 < 0.05, and the Cohen’s d effect size was 0.07, categorized as moderate at 76%. It was concluded that the STEAM learning model significantly influenced the social studies learning outcomes of seventh-grade students on the topic of community empowerment.
