Abstract
Seiring dengan berkembangnya teknologi di era globalisasi maka diperlukan sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan. salah satu faktor penentu kualitas pendidikan yaitu guru. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh langsung antara kepribadian terhadap citizenship behavior melalui motivasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan 81 guru di Jakarta Timur sebagai sampel yang dipilih secara acak. Terdapat tiga instrumen yang telah dikembangkan untuk mengukur variabel-variabel tersebut. Masing-masing instrumen tersebut memiliki reliabilitas variabel kepribadian sebesar 0,930, variabel motivasi sebesar 0,918, dan variabel citizenship behavior sebesar 0,884. Data telah dianalisis dengan analisis jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi secara signifikan sebagai mediator antara kepribadian dan citizenship behavior, kepribadian berpengaruh langsung terhadap CB secara signifikan, motivasi berpengaruh langsung terhadap CB secara signifikan, dan kepribadian berpengaruh langsung terhadap motivasi secara signifikan. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa variasi CB guru atau lebih spesifik kinerja guru dipengaruhi oleh variasi kepribadian dan motivasi, sehingga ketika kinerja guru biologi akan ditingkatkan, faktor kepribadian dan motivasi guru dipertimbangkan, khususnya dalam membuat keputusan dan meningkatkan kualitas guru IPA biologi SMP dalam pembelajaran. Kata Kunci: big-five personality, citizenship behavior, regresi & korelasi dan path analysis. Adopting to development of technology at the era of globalization, quality of human resource has a vital role in improving the quality of education which mostly depend on teachers’ quality as well. This research, therefore, aimed at finding out whether teachers’ personality (big-five personality) and motivation affected on teachers’ citizenship behavior/CB (performance). A causal survey used by selecting 81 teachers randomly. Three instruments developed to measure personality with reliability of .930, motivation (.918), and citizenship behavior with reliability of .884. Data was analyzed by regression, correlation and path analysis. Research results showed that teachers’ motivation was good and non significant as mediated factor between personality and teachers’ CB, personality directly and significantly affect teachers’ CB, motivation directly and significantly affect teachers’ CB, and personality directly and significantly affect motivation. Based on these findings, it could be concluded that variation of teachers’ CB or in more specific, teachers’ performance, influenced by teachers’ personality and motivation variation, so when biological teachers’ performance would be improved, the role of teachers’ personality (big-five factors) and motivation should be taken into consideration, especially in making decision in improving continuously the quality of junior high school, particularly biological teaching and learning.
