Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Dasar-Dasar Otomotif kelas X TKR di SMK Negeri 2 Kota Tangerang. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa yang masih berada di bawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM), serta dominasi penggunaan model konvensional yang berpusat pada guru (teacher centered). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu (quasi experimental design) tipe pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas yang dipilih secara purposive, yaitu kelas eksperimen (menggunakan model discovery learning) dan kelas kontrol (menggunakan model konvensional). Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pilihan ganda sebanyak 24 butir soal yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi (87,58) dibandingkan kelas kontrol (81,55) dengan nilai signifikansi (Sig. 2-tailed) sebesar 0,048 < 0,05. Nilai rata-rata N-Gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,79 berada dalam kategori tinggi, sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,64 dalam kategori sedang. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model discovery learning berpengaruh secara signifikan dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Dasar-Dasar Otomotif. ***** This study aims to determine the effect of the discovery learning model on students' learning outcomes in the subject of Basic Automotive at Grade X of the Light Vehicle Engineering (TKR) program at SMK Negeri 2 Kota Tangerang. The background of this research is based on the low student achievement, which remains below the Minimum Competency Criteria (KKM), as well as the dominance of conventional teacher-centered learning models. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the pretestposttest control group design. The sample consists of two purposively selected classes: the experimental class (using the discovery learning model) and the control class (using a conventional teaching model). The research instrument was a multiple-choice test consisting of 24 items that had been validated for both validity and reliability. The analysis results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes. The average posttest score of the experimental class was higher (87.58) compared to the control class (81.55), with a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.048 < 0.05. The average N-Gain of the experimental class was 0.79, which falls into the high category, while the control class had an N-Gain of 0.64, which is in the moderate category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the discovery learning model has a significant effect on improving students' learning outcomes in the Basic Automotive subject.
