Abstract

***** This study aims to examine the effect of job stress on emotional eating among Generation Z employees in the Jabodetabek area. Emotional eating is defined as the desire to eat that arises in response to negative emotions rather than physiological hunger. Meanwhile, job stress refers to a condition in which individuals perceive that job demands exceed the resources or abilities they possess. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with a total of 135 Generation Z employees in Jabodetabek as participants. The instruments used were the Job Stress Scale (JSS) to measure job stress and the Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire (DEBQ) to measure emotional eating. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression analysis. The results showed a positive and significant effect of job stress on emotional eating (p < 0.001), with a contribution of 14% to emotional eating among Generation Z employees in Jabodetabek. Therefore, the findings indicate that the higher the level of job stress experienced, the greater the tendency for individuals to emotional eating.
