Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara father presence dengan kesiapan menikah pada perempuan dewasa awal di Pulau Jawa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan uji hipotesis yang digunakan yaitu uji korelasi. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah The Father Presence Questionnaire oleh Krampe dan Newton (2006) untuk mengukur father presence dan Marital Readiness Questionnaire oleh Ghalili, et. al. (2012) versi Bahasa Indonesia oleh Hikmah dan Rahayu (2025). Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah non-probability purposive sampling. Penelitian ini melibatkan 269 responden perempuan dewasa awal yang belum menikah dan tinggal serumah dengan ayah selama masa tumbuh kembang di Pulau Jawa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara father presence dan kesiapan menikah pada perempuan dewasa awal di Pulau Jawa. Hubungan tersebut bersifat positif dengan kekuatan lemah (r = 0,261) yang berarti semakin tinggi tingkat father presence, maka cenderung semakin tinggi pula kesiapan menikah responden. ***** This study aims to examine the relationship between father presence and marital readiness among young adult women in Java. This is a quantitative study using hypothesis testing, specifically correlation testing. The instruments used are The Father Presence Questionnaire by Krampe and Newton (2006) to measure father presence and the Marital Readiness Questionnaire by Ghalili, et. al. (2012) in Indonesian by Hikmah and Rahayu (2025). The sampling technique used is non-probability purposive sampling. This study involved 269 early adult female respondents who were unmarried and lived with their fathers during their developmental years on the island of Java. The results of the study indicate a relationship between father presence and marital readiness among early adult women in Java. This relationship is positive with weak strength (r = 0,261), meaning that the higher the level of father presence, the higher the marital readiness of the respondents.
