Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pola asuh otoritatif ibu terhadap Mental Well-being mahasiswa. Mahasiswa pada rentang usia 18-25 tahun seringkali menghadapi berbagai tantangan akademik dan sosial yang berpotensi memicu stres, kecemasan, dan depresi, sehingga berdampak negatif pada kesejahteraan mental mereka. Mengingat peran dominan ibu dalam proses pengasuhan dan pendisiplinan, pola asuh otoritatif menjadi relevan untuk diteliti. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan melibatkan 736 mahasiswa S1 aktif di wilayah Jabodetabek yang dipilih melalui teknik convenience sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale (WEMWBS) untuk mengukur Mental Well-being dan Parental Authority Questionnaire (PAQ) untuk mengukur pola asuh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola asuh otoritatif ibu memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap Mental Wellbeing mahasiswa. Temuan ini mengindikasikan pentingnya pola asuh yang mendukung dan responsif dalam membentuk kondisi mental yang positif pada mahasiswa. Kata Kunci: Pola Asuh Otoritatif, Ibu, Mental Well-being, Mahasiswa. **** This research investigates the influence of mothers' authoritative parenting style on students' Mental Well-being. University students aged 18-25 often face various academic and social challenges that can trigger stress, anxiety, and depression, negatively impacting their mental health. Given the mother's dominant role in nurturing and disciplining, the authoritative parenting style becomes a relevant subject for study. This quantitative research involved 736 active undergraduate students in the Jabodetabek area, selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected using The Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale (WEMWBS) to measure Mental Well-being and the Parental Authority Questionnaire (PAQ) to assess parenting styles. The findings indicate that mothers' authoritative parenting style significantly influences students' Mental Well-being. These results highlight the importance of a supportive and responsive parenting style in fostering positive mental conditions among university students.
