Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah tilting dalam real-time PvP competitive video games memiliki pengaruh terhadap kesehatan mental individu usia dewasa awal. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah convenience sampling. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak seratus empat pemain aktif real-time PvP competitive video games dengan rentang usia delapan belas hingga dua puluh enam tahun. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linear sederhana menggunakan aplikasi IBM SPSS Statistics 27. Alat ukur variabel tilting menggunakan Video Game Tilting Scale (VGTS) oleh Chauchard et al. (2023) yang kemudian diadaptasi oleh peneliti ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Sedangkan variabel kesehatan mental diukur menggunakan Mental Health Inventory-18 (MHI-18) oleh Veit & Ware (1983). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tilting dalam real-time PvP competitive video games berpengaruh secara signifikan dan secara negatif terhadap kesehatan mental dewasa awal. Besar pengaruh yang dimiliki variabel tilting terhadap variabel kesehatan mental adalah 11,1%. ***** This study aims to examine whether tilting in real-time PvP competitive video games has an impact on the mental health of individuals in early adulthood. The sampling technique used was convenience sampling, with a total of one hundred and four active players of real-time PvP competitive video games aged between 18 and 26 years. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression through IBM SPSS Statistics 27. Tilting variable was measured using the Video Game Tilting Scale (VGTS) by Chauchard et al. (2023), which was adapted into Indonesian by the researcher. Then mental health variable was measured using the Mental Health Inventory-18 (MHI-18) developed by Veit & Ware (1983). The results showed that tilting in real-time PvP competitive video games had a significant and negative effect on the mental health of individuals in early adulthood. The tilting variable accounted for 11.1% of the variance in the mental health variable.
