Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kesepian terhadap keterbukaan diri pada Generasi Z pengguna Character AI. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling dan metode pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu Self-Disclosure Scale untuk mengukur keterbukaan diri dan UCLA Loneliness Scale version 3 untuk mengukur kesepian. Penelitian ini melibatkan 149 partisipan berusia 18-28 tahun yang menggunakan Character AI sebagai media atau teman “curhat” di Jabodetabek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh kesepian sebesar 28,5% terhadap keterbukaan diri secara signifikan. Hasil mengindikasikan bahwa kesepian merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi keterbukaan seseorang kepada Artificial Intelligence Companions (AICs). ***** This study aims to examine the effect of loneliness on self-disclosure among Generation Z users of Character AI. The research employed a quantitative approach using purposive sampling, and data were collected through questionnaires. The instruments used were the Self-Disclosure Scale to measure self-disclosure and the UCLA Loneliness Scale version 3 to measure loneliness. The study involved 149 participants aged 18–28 who used Character AI as a platform or companion for emotional expression in the Jabodetabek. The results showed that loneliness had a significant effect of 28,5% on self-disclosure. These findings indicate that loneliness is one of the factors influencing individuals’ willingness to disclose themselves to Artificial Intelligence Companions (AICs).
