Abstract
INA SAKINAH, Pengaruh Penggunaan Virtual Reality Laboratory terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Tingkat Tinggi Peserta Didik pada Materi Termokimia. Skripsi, Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Juli 2025. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh positif penggunaan virtual reality laboratory (VRL) terhadap kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi peserta didik pada materi termokimia. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu quasi-experiment dengan model nonequivalent (pretest and postest) control-group. Sampel yang dijadikan objek penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas XI Kimia (N = 70) di salah satu SMA Negeri di Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen angket Higher Order Thingking Skills Scale (HOTSS) dengan skala Likert 1-5 untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi peserta didik (HOTS) di kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Kelas eksperimen melakukan pembelajaran menggunakan VRL, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan video praktikum. Data dianalisis menggunakan independent sample t-test dan paired sample t-test. Hasil menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap rata-rata skor post-test antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol (p = 0,001), yang mengindikasikan bahwa penggunaan VRL berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan HOTS. Pengalaman belajar melalui informasi verbal dan visual yang disediakan VRL dinilai mampu memperkuat pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan abad ke-21. Oleh karena itu, disarankan untuk mengintegrasikan VRL dalam pembelajaran kimia, khususnya pada materi yang bersifat abstrak seperti termokimia. This study aims to determine the positive effect of virtual reality laboratory (VRL) use on students' higher-order thinking skills in thermochemistry. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent (pretest and posttest) control-group model. The sample was 11th-grade Chemistry students (N = 70) at a public high school in Jakarta. This study used a Higher Order Thinking Skills Scale (HOTSS) questionnaire with a Likert scale of 1-5 to measure students' higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in the experimental and control classes. The experimental class used VRL for learning, while the control class used video lab work. Data were analyzed using independent sample t-tests and paired sample t-tests. The results showed a significant difference in the average post-test scores between the experimental and control classes (p = 0.001), indicating that the use of VRL had a positive effect on improving HOTS. The learning experience through verbal and visual information provided by VRL was considered capable of strengthening conceptual understanding and 21st-century skills. Therefore, it is recommended to integrate VRL in chemistry learning, especially in abstract materials such as thermochemistry.
