Abstract

Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui fenomena yang dialami oleh mahasiswa S1 Bimbingan dan Konseling terkait proses mereka selama masa studinya yang dilatih untuk dapat menjadi calon guru BK yang mampu menjadi figur kelekatan aman (secure base) yang baru serta mampu menawarkan tempat perlindungan yang aman (safe haven) bagi peserta didiknya. Penelitian ini mengambil 5 (lima) orang informan dengan latar belakang gaya kelekatan yang tidak aman (insecure attachment styles), yang terdiri atas dua orang dengan gaya kelekatan preoccupied, dua orang dengan gaya kelekatan fearful, dan satu orang dengan gaya kelekatan dismissing. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pendekatan yang digunakan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian fenomenologis. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melakukan wawancara semi-terstruktur secara mendalam (semi-structured, in-depth interviews) dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun memiliki pengalaman kelekatan yang tidak stabil, para informan menunjukkan upaya untuk membangun relasi yang empatik, terbuka, dan aman bagi peserta didik. Proses refleksi diri, pengalaman praktik lapangan, serta dukungan dalam lingkungan akademik menjadi faktor penting dalam membantu mereka mengelola emosi, membangun batas, dan menghadapi dinamika relasional secara lebih sehat. Namun, masih ditemukan perbedaan tingkat kesiapan antar informan, terutama dalam menghadapi isu emosional yang kompleks. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pengembangan kapasitas reflektif dalam pendidikan profesi BK guna mendukung kesiapan mahasiswa membentuk relasi yang aman dalam praktik profesionalnya. ***** This qualitative research aims to explore the experiences of undergraduate students in Guidance and Counseling programs regarding their process of being trained to become future school counselors who can serve as a secure base and provide a safe haven for their students. The study involved five participants with insecure attachment styles, consisting of two individuals with preoccupied attachment, two with fearful attachment, and one with dismissing attachment. The participants were selected using purposive sampling. The research employed a qualitative approach using a phenomenological method. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured, in-depth interviews and analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The findings reveal that despite their unstable early attachment experiences, the participants demonstrated efforts to build emotionally safe, empathetic, and open relationships with their students. Reflective practices, fieldwork experiences, and academic support played significant roles in helping them regulate emotions, establish boundaries, and manage relational dynamics in healthier ways. However, varying levels of readiness were found, particularly in handling emotionally challenging situations. These findings highlight the importance of cultivating reflective capacity within counselor education to support students' ability to form secure relationships in their professional practice.
