Abstract

Masalah sampah di sekolah menjadi tantangan besar karena selain kurangnya infrastruktur pendukung, siswa juga cenderung membuang sampah tanpa memilahnya. Pengetahuan siswa tentang pemilahan sampah diperlukan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Pemilahan sampah adalah proses penting untuk memisahkan sampah organik, anorganik, dan B3. Media poster dapat menarik perhatian siswa untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang pemilahan sampah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media poster terhadap pengetahuan siswa tentang pemilahan sampah. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada November 2024 – Juli 2025 di SMA Negeri 4 Bekasi. Metode penelitian Quasi Experimental dengan desain penelitian pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel peneliti berjumlah 60 sampel dengan masing-masing kelas berjumlah 30 sampel yang diperoleh menggunakan Simple Random Sampling. Hasil yang didapatkan nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol masing-masing adalah 86,84 dan 78,42. Gain score yang diperoleh di kelas eksperimen sebesar 17,54, sementara kelas di kontrol sebesar 9,47. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh media poster terhadap pengetahuan siswa tentang pemilahan sampah. Berdasarkan penelitian ini maka media poster dapat diterapkan sebagai media alternatif yang mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa SMA tentang pemilahan sampah. ***** The waste problem at school is a major challenge due to the lack of supporting infrastructure, and students also tend to throw trash without sorting it. Students’ knowledge of waste sorting is essential for further actions in daily life. Waste sorting is an important process for separating organic, inorganic, and hazardous waste. Posters media can attract students’ attention to enhance their knowledge about waste sorting. This research aims to determine the effect of posters media on students' knowledge about waste sorting. This research was conducted from November 2024 to July 2025 at SMA Negeri 4 Bekasi. The research method is Quasi Experimental with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 60 students, with 30 students in each class, selected using Simple Random Sampling. The results obtained show that the average posttest scores for the experimental class and the control class are 86.84 and 78.42, respectively. The score obtained in the experimental class is 17.54, while the score in the control class is 9.47. The results of the study concluded that posters had an effect on students' knowledge of waste sorting. Based on this research, posters media can be applied as a alternative media that can improve high school students' knowledge about waste sorting.
