Abstract
Penelitian ini mengkaji penerjemahan metafora dalam album Buzz milik NIKI ke dalam bahasa Indonesia melalui lensa Eko-Translatologi, dengan fokus pada tiga dimensinya: linguistik, kultural, dan komunikatif. Sebanyak 120 ekspresi metafora diidentifikasi dan diklasifikasikan menggunakan Teori Metafora Konseptual Lakoff dan Johnson (1980). Analisis menunjukkan bahwa metafora struktural merupakan yang paling dominan (40,83%), diikuti oleh metafora ontologis (40%) dan metafora orientasional (19,17%). Dalam dimensi linguistik, perangkat retorika, pola kalimat, dan gaya bahasa digunakan secara adaptif, dengan perangkat retorika mencapai 30% dan pola kalimat serta gaya bahasa masing-masing muncul 37,5%. Dalam dimensi kultural, substitusi merupakan strategi yang paling sering digunakan (65%), diikuti oleh penerjemahan harfiah (34,17%), sementara peminjaman dan penambahan hanya muncul sekali (0,83%). Dalam dimensi komunikatif, strategi yang paling dominan adalah aproksimasi (67,5%), diikuti oleh sirkumlokusi (6,67%), penerjemahan harfiah (1,67%), dan alih bahasa (0,83%). Temuan menunjukkan bahwa penerjemahan metafora dalam Buzz dilakukan dengan pilihan adaptif yang kuat, terutama mengutamakan kejelasan komunikatif dan kealamian budaya daripada kesetaraan harfiah atau stilistika. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa Eko-Translatologi merupakan pendekatan yang efektif untuk menganalisis penerjemahan metafora dalam lirik musik, menawarkan wawasan yang seimbang tentang bagaimana makna metaforis dapat dipertahankan sekaligus beradaptasi dengan norma linguistik dan budaya bahasa sasaran. **** This study investigates the translation of metaphors in NIKI’s album Buzz into Indonesian through the lens of Eco-Translatology, focusing on its three dimensions: linguistic, cultural, and communicative. A total of 120 metaphorical expressions were identified and classified using Lakoff and Johnson’s (1980) Conceptual Metaphor Theory. The analysis revealed that structural metaphors were the most dominant (40.83%), followed closely by ontological metaphors (40%) and orientational metaphors (19.17%). In the linguistic dimension, rhetorical devices, sentence patterns, and language style were used adaptively, with rhetorical devices accounting for 30% and both sentence patterns and style appearing 37.5% each. In the cultural dimension, substitution was the most frequent strategy (65%), followed by literal translation (34.17%), while borrowing and addition appeared only once each (0.83%). In the communicative dimension, the most dominant strategy was approximation (67.5%), followed by circumlocution (6.67%), literal translation (1.67%), and language switch (0.83%). The findings indicate that the translation of metaphors in Buzz was carried out with strong adaptive choices, particularly prioritizing communicative clarity and cultural naturalness over literal or stylistic equivalence. This study concludes that Eco-Translatology is an effective approach for analyzing metaphor translation in music lyrics, offering balanced insights into how metaphorical meaning can be preserved while adapting to the linguistic and cultural norms of the target language.
