Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan membandingkan framing media Kompas.com dan Tempo.co terhadap pidato perdana Presiden Prabowo Subianto pasca-pelantikannya pada Oktober 2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis framing dari Robert N. Entman yang mencakup empat elemen: mendefinisikan masalah (define problems), mengidentifikasi penyebab (diagnose cause), memberikan penilaian moral (make moral judgment), dan menyarankan solusi (treatment recommendations). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kompas.com secara umum tidak menunjukkan sikap kritis atau konfrontatif. Media ini menampilkan Prabowo sebagai pemimpin yang jujur, patriotik, dan solutif dalam menghadapi kemiskinan dan ketahanan pangan. Sebaliknya, Tempo.co menggunakan framing yang netral dan deskriptif, menyampaikan isi pidato tanpa ekspansi emosional, kritik terbuka, maupun dukungan eksplisit. Meski gaya pemberitaan berbeda, keduanya sama-sama menyoroti isu kemiskinan dan kemandirian pangan sebagai agenda utama. Tidak ada penolakan terbuka terhadap pidato atau figur Prabowo dari kedua media. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa framing media dipengaruhi oleh orientasi redaksional dan posisi ideologis, serta memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk persepsi publik terhadap pemimpin politik. ***** This study aims to analyze and compare the media framing of Kompas.com and Tempo.co regarding President Prabowo Subianto’s inaugural address following his inauguration in October 2024. It employs a qualitative approach using Robert N. Entman’s framing theory, which includes four elements: defining problems, diagnosing causes, making moral judgments, and treatment recommendations. The findings reveal that Kompas.com generally does not show any critical or confrontational attitude. The media portrays him as a sincere, patriotic, and solution-oriented leader in addressing poverty and food security. In contrast, Tempo.co presents a more neutral and descriptive framing, reporting the content of the speech without emotional amplification, overt criticism, or explicit support. Despite differences in tone and approach, both media highlight poverty and food self-sufficiency as core issues. Neither media outlet expresses direct opposition to the speech or to Prabowo as a political figure. These results demonstrate that media framing is influenced by editorial orientation and ideological positioning, and plays a crucial role in shaping public perceptions of political leadership.
