Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas proses Imitasi dan Transformasi Budaya Ngubek Situ ke dalam karya Tari Rengkak Ayakan menurut perspektif Susanne K. Langer. Tari Rengkak Ayakan merupakan bentuk seni yang terinspirasi dari Budaya masyarakat, yang diolah melalui proses kreatif menjadi simbol ekspresi manusia. Sesuai dengan teori Langer, seni bukan sekadar tiruan realitas, melainkan hasil dari proses imitasi dan transformasi yang menciptakan makna simbolik atas emosi yang dirasakan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan pendekatan observasi, studi literatur, serta wawancara mendalam dengan koreografer, penari, tokoh masyarakat, pemusik, dan pengelola Sanggar Tari Gandes Pamantes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Tari Rengkak Ayakan tidak hanya meniru aktivitas fisik dari sebuah Budaya, tetapi menginterpretasikan nilai-nilai kebersamaan, kegembiraan, dan rasa syukur melalui unsur gerak, busana, properti, serta struktur pertunjukannya. Transformasi tersebut menghasilkan karya tari yang merepresentasikan makna simbolik dari Budaya Ngubek Situ, selaras dengan konsep ekspresi emosional menurut Susanne K. Langer. Dengan demikian, Tari Rengkak Ayakan menjadi media pelestarian budaya yang efektif, karena mampu memadukan unsur Budaya dan kreativitas artistik, serta menjembatani warisan budaya lokal dengan konteks pertunjukan modern melalui pendekatan simbolik dan ekspresif. ***** This research discusses the process of Imitation and Transformation of Ngubek Situ Culture in the Rengkak Ayakan Dance Work from Susanne K. Langer's Perspective. Rengkak Ayakan is a form of art inspired by community traditions, creatively processed into a symbolic expression of human emotion. According to Langer's theory, art is not merely a copy of reality, but the result of imitation and transformation that creates symbolic meaning from felt emotions. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method, using observation, literature review, and in-depth interviews with choreographers, dancers, community figures, musicians, and the management of Sanggar Tari Gandes Pamantes. The results show that Rengkak Ayakan does not simply replicate the physical activities of a tradition, but rather interprets values of togetherness, joy, and gratitude through elements of movement, costume, props, and performance structure. This transformation results in a dance work that symbolically represents the meaning of the Ngubek Situ tradition, in accordance with Langer’s concept of emotional expression. This, Rengkak Ayakan becomes an effective medium for cultural preservation by integrating traditional elements with artistic creativity, and bridging local cultural heritage with the context of modern performance through a symbolic and expressive approach.
