Abstract

Penelitian ini menyajikan beban kognitif di dalam memilih jawaban tes pemahaman konsep biologi pada materi sistem regulasi manusia. Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui pengaruh beban kognitif secara langsung dan tidak langsung terhadap variabel yang teridentifikasi (kapasitas memori kerja, heuristic judgment, dan pemahaman konsep biologi). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian survey dan dianalisis berdasarkan koefisien jalur dengan program lisrel 8.72. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI IPA dari tiga sekolah di Kabupaten Serang yang berjumlah 463 peserta didik dan sampel yang diambil berjumlah 215 peserta didik. Hasil dari penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa ada tiga pengaruh positif secara langsung yaitu beban kognitif terhadap kapasitas memori kerja, beban kognitif terhadap heuristic judgment, dan kapasitas memori kerja terhadap heuristic judgment. Namun, tidak terdapat pengaruh negatif secara langsung yaitu heuristic judgment terhadap pemahaman konsep biologi. Sedangkan pengaruh tidak langsung, satu hipotesis mempunyai pengaruh positif secara tidak langsung, yaitu beban kognitif terhadap heuristic judgment dan dua hipotesis tidak memiliki pengaruh negatif secara tidak langsung yaitu beban kognitif terhadap pemahaman konsep biologi dan kapasitas memori kerja terhadap pemahaman konsep biologi Keywords: beban kognitif, kapasitas memori kerja, heuristic judgment, and pemahaman konsep biologi This research presents the cognitive load in choosing answers to conceptual understanding test of the human regulatory system. The purpose of this study is to find the influence of cognitive load directly and indirectly on the variables that are identified (working memory capacity, heuristic judgment, and understanding of biological concept). The research method used was survey research and analyzed based on the path coefficient with the 8.72 Lisrel program. The population in this study are students of class XI science from three schools in Kabupaten Serang a numbers of 463 students and the sample taken a numbers of 215 students. The results of this study indicate that there is three direct positive influences: cognitive load on working memory capacity, cognitive load on heuristic judgment and working memory capacity on heuristic judgment. However, there is not direct negative effect, namely heuristic judgment on understanding of biological concept. One hypothesis have an indirect positive effect, namely cognitive load on heuristic judgment. Two hypothesis have not indirect negative effectS, namely cognitive load on understanding of biological concept and working memory capacity on understanding of biological concept.
