Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mendeskripsikan penggunaan teknik penerjemahan amplifikasi dan reduksi dalam komik Prancis berjudul Le Petit Spirou: C’est pour ton bien ! oleh Tome dan Janry (1994) dan komik terjemahannya dalam bahasa Indonesia yang berjudul Le Petit Spirou: Demi Kebaikanmu Sendiri! oleh Helen Ishwara (2001). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu analisis isi. Data dalam penelitian diambil dari percakapan yang terkandung di dalam komik yang menjadi sumber data penelitian, yaitu komik Le Petit Spirou: C’est pour ton bien ! oleh Tome dan Janry, serta komik terjemahannya oleh Helen Ishwara. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik simak catat. Hasil dari penelitian ditemukan bahwa terdapat empat puluh empat (44) data yang diterjemahkan menggunakan teknik penerjemahan amplifikasi dan reduksi. Ditemukan tujuh (7) data yang menerapkan amplifikasi, yaitu: tiga (3) data dalam kategori eksplisitasi, tiga (3) data dalam penambahan informasi, dan satu (1) data dalam kategori budaya. Sedangkan penggunaan teknik reduksi mendominasi pada komik sumber data dengan tiga puluh tujuh (37) data ditemukan menerapkan reduksi, yaitu: empat (4) data dalam kategori implisitasi, dua puluh satu (21) data dalam kategori pemadatan informasi, dan dua belas (12) data dalam kategori penghapusan total. Penelitian ini dapat dimanfaatkan oleh peneliti lain, penerjemah, guru, serta pembaca lainnya untuk melakukan penelitian atau penerjemahan dengan teknik amplifikasi dan reduksi. ***** This study aims to identify and describe the use of amplification and reduction translation techniques in the French comic entitled Le Petit Spirou: C'est pour ton bien ! by Tome and Janry (1994) and its Indonesian translation, Le Petit Spirou: Demi Kebaikanmu Sendiri! by Helen Ishwara (2001). This research uses a qualitative approach and the method used in the research is content analysis. The data in the study were taken from the conversations contained in the comic which became the source of the research data, namely the comic Le Petit Spirou: C'est pour ton bien ! by Tome and Janry, and the translated comic by Helen Ishwara. Data collection in this study was carried out using the technique of simak catat. The result of the study found that there were forty-four (44) data translated using amplification and reduction translation techniques. There are seven (7) data that apply amplification, namely: three (3) data in the category of explicitness, three (3) data in the addition of information, and one (1) data in the category of culture. Meanwhile, the use of reduction techniques dominates in comic data sources with thirty-seven (37) data found to apply reduction, namely: four (4) data in the implication category, twenty-one (21) data in the information compaction category, and twelve (12) data in the total deletion category. This study can be utilized by other researchers, translators, teachers, as well as other readers to conduct research on the topic.
