Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki praktik pendidikan menulis kreatif di SMP Labschool Kebayoran Baru menggunakan metodologi etnografi. Etnografi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah petenelitian etnografi dari Spradley. Penelitian ini terutama mengkaji dinamika interaksi guru-siswa, metode pengajaran yang digunakan, serta nilai-nilai budaya sekolah yang memengaruhi peningkatan kemampuan menulis kreatif siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara komprehensif, dan analisis tugas tertulis siswa serta dokumen pengajaran. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan menulis kreatif di SMP Labschool Kebayoran Baru memprioritaskan unsur-unsur bahasa bersama dengan pengembangan karakter, kebebasan berekspresi, dan pembinaan kreativitas. Lingkungan belajar yang mendukung, beberapa model pengajaran yang mendukung budaya menulis kreatif, serta penerapan nilai-nilai budaya LabSchool yang mendukung dan telah terbukti efektif dalam mendorong partisipasi aktif siswa dalam menulis. Guru berperan sebagai fasilitator utama yang tidak hanya mengarahkan aspek teknis menulis tetapi juga membina lingkungan belajar yang kreatif dan mendukung. Studi ini menyoroti pentingnya strategi pembelajaran yang berorientasi budaya dan pengalaman siswa dalam mengembangkan keterampilan membaca yang bermakna. Terdapat beberapa aspek tema budaya yang ditemukan seperti budaya menulis kreatif di dalam kelas, budaya menulis kreatif yang dijadikan kumpulan buku untuk koleksi di perpustakaan, budaya tentang menulis kreatif dalam seleksi mengikuti program pertukaran pelajar dan budaya menulis kreatif sebagai syarat untuk mengikuti lomba nasional maupun internasional. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat membantu dalam merumuskan pendekatan pedagogis penulisan kreatif yang kontekstual dan memberdayakan, khususnya untuk pendidikan menengah pertama. ***** This study aims to investigate the practice of creative writing education at Labschool Kebayoran Baru Junior High School using ethnographic methodology. The ethnography used in this study is Spradley's ethnography. This study primarily examines the dynamics of teacher-student interactions, the teaching methods used, and the school's cultural values that influence the improvement of students' creative writing skills. Data were collected through participant observation, comprehensive interviews, and analysis of student written assignments and teaching documents. The research findings indicate that creative writing training at Labschool Kebayoran Baru Junior High School prioritizes language elements along with character development, freedom of expression, and fostering creativity. A supportive learning environment, several teaching models that support a culture of creative writing, and the implementation of LabSchool's supportive cultural values have proven effective in encouraging active student participation in writing. Teachers act as primary facilitators who not only guide the technical aspects of writing but also foster a creative and supportive learning environment. This study highlights the importance of culturally oriented learning strategies and student experiences in developing meaningful reading skills. Several aspects of cultural themes were discovered, such as the culture of creative writing in the classroom, the culture of creative writing as a collection of books in libraries, the culture of creative writing in the selection process for student exchange programs, and the culture of creative writing as a requirement for national and international competitions. These findings are expected to help formulate a contextual and empowering pedagogical approach to creative writing, particularly for junior high school education.
